‘Adipurush’ box office day 4: Prabhas’ film ‘collapses after strong opening weekend’

Om Raut’s ‘Adipurush’, starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan, witnessed a massive drop on day 4 at the box office. The mythological drama is being criticised by people across the country ever since its release for its dialogues and VFX, among other reasons.

‘Adipurush’ managed to record a good opening weekend because of the advance booking and hype. However, trade expert Taran Adarsh revealed that the film nosedived on the first Monday after release.

Taking to Twitter, he wrote, ‘THE NEGATIVE WORD OF MOUTH HAS COME INTO PLAY… After a strong opening weekend, #Adipurush COLLAPSES on Monday. #Hindi version. #India biz.’
A Pinkvilla report stated that the film witnessed a downfall of 75 to 77 percent at the box office. The film reportedly collected only Rs 8.5 crores nett box office collection on Day 4 at the box office for its Hindi version.

‘Adipurush’ has reportedly earned Rs 340 crore at the global box office in its opening weekend.
Nepal has banned all Indian movies after a dialogue in ‘Adipurush’ called Janaki ‘daughter of India’ whereas the Kathmandu mayor claims Sita was born in Nepal.

The makers have apologised to Kathmandu Mayor and have also said that they are making changes to dialogues of the film.

‘Adipurush’, an adaptation of the Indian epic ‘Ramayana’, stars Prabhas as Raghav, Kriti as Janaki, and Saif as Lankesh. The film also features Sunny Singh as Shesh and Devdatta Nage as Bajrang.
