Vistara-Air India Merger Update: Important Deadlines Inside

Vistara merges with Air India on November 12th. Bookings, loyalty points, and vouchers will transfer seamlessly to Air India systems. Key deadlines include Vistara's last flight, gift card use, and membership renewals until March 2026.

Vistara-Air India Merger Update: Important Deadlines Inside

The countdown has begun! The Vistara-Air India merger is just around the corner, and if you have travel plans or loyalty points with Vistara, this is the video you need to watch. Get ready for some major updates!

The last flight under the Vistara brand name will fly on the 11th November. And November 12th is the official date when Vistara flights will switch to the Air India brand, meaning Vistara’s familiar ‘UK’ flight code will now be replaced with Air India’s ‘AI’ code."

Wondering what this means for your existing bookings? Don’t worry! All bookings on or after November 12th will automatically transfer to Air India’s reservation system—no need to rebook or re-confirm. It’s all taken care of!

But heads up! After November 11th, the Vistara app will stop working, so be sure to download the Air India app or head to the Air India website for your travel needs. This is where all your bookings, updates, and check-ins will happen from now on.

Here’s another important update: Vistara flight numbers will change to a new four-digit code, starting with 'AI 2'. So, for instance, if you’re used to seeing UK 408, it’ll now be AI 2408—making it easy to spot on Air India’s platform.

And here’s the best part—Vistara’s renowned in-flight experience? It’s staying exactly the same! The same crew, the same menu, and yes, the same routes. So, while the brand might be changing, the service you love isn’t going anywhere.

Now, Club Vistara members, listen up! This merger means big changes to the loyalty program. Vistara’s Club Vistara and Air India’s Flying Returns programs will combine into a new program: the Maharaja Club, launching November 12th.

According to a recent email from the airline, you’ll only have access to your Club Vistara account until 4:00 PM on November 10th. After that, you won't be able to login, so make sure to download a record of your past transactions.

After the 12th of November, you’ll be able to log into your new account on the Air India website. If you already have a Flying Returns account, your Club Vistara points, tier status, and vouchers will be merged automatically. And if you don’t have a Flying Returns account yet, Air India will create one for you.

If you’ve got any Club Vistara points expiring in September or October, don’t worry—they’ll be reissued as ‘Compensatory CV Points’ and transferred to your new account. Plus, if you’ve created any on-demand vouchers that expire after November 11th, they’ll get a bonus three-month extension. So, more time to redeem and enjoy!"

And a quick tip for anyone with a Vistara Purple Ticket Gift Card—you can still redeem it on the Vistara website until November 11th. After that, it’s fully compatible with Air India’s website!"

Lastly, for members renewing their annual memberships, your benefits will be valid until March 31, 2025, and will continue through March 2026. But remember, check with any issuing partners, as they might have specific renewal deadlines."

"So, Vistara travelers, are you ready for the change? With these tips, your transition should be smooth and seamless. Drop a comment below if you have questions about the merger, and don’t forget to subscribe for more updates on this and other travel news.
