Lessors of Go First aircraft approach the DGCA to deregister 20 flights

Lessors of Go First aircraft approach the DGCA to deregister 20 flights

The civil aviation authority Directorate General of Civil Aviation has been contacted by aircraft lessors seeking to deregister and export 20 Go First aircraft.

The civil aviation regulator is obligated under Irrevocable De-registration and Export Request Authorizations (IDERA) to deregister aircraft within five days of the name of a third party in situations like default on lease rents.

Eight Dublin-based lessors, including Narmada Aviation Leasing, Yamuna Aviation, Banas Aviation, EOS Aviation, JSA Aircraft, SMBC Aviation Capital, GY Aviation, and Pembroke Aviation Leasing, have received the requests for de-registration.

De-registration requests have been submitted for 16 Pratt & Whitney-powered Airbus A320neo aircraft and four CFM-powered Airbus 320 aircraft.

GY Aviation has submitted the most de-registration requests with ten aircraft, followed by SMBC Aviation with four aircraft and Narmada Aviation Leasing, Yamuna Aviation Leasing, Banas Aviation, EOS Aviation, JSA Aircraft, and Pembroke Aircraft with one aircraft apiece.

Flights from May 3 through May 9 have been cancelled by the Wadia group-backed airline, which voluntarily filed for insolvency at the National Company Law Tribunal's principal bench on May 2. The airline has informed the frequent flier that it is no longer accepting reservations until May 15.

The Mumbai-based airline has attributed a two-year loss in income and increased costs of roughly ₹10,800 crore to ongoing problems with Pratt & Whitney engines. Since 2020, the airline has experienced a 30% to 50% inactive fleet due to unserviceable engines.
