Andhra Pradesh Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath tabled a Budget of ₹2,79,279 crore for financial year 2023-24. Andhra FM has allocated an amount of ₹11,589 crore to the  agriculture sector.

Andhra follows Centre's Budget lead, big focus on Agri Sector

Andhra Pradesh Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath on Thursday tabled a Budget of ₹2,79,279 crore for financial year 2023-24 in the Legislative Assembly.

For the agriculture sector ₹11,589 crore has been allocated. In the budget for 2023-24, the state allocated ₹1,212 crores for agricultural mechanization and ₹125 crores for fisher's insurance. In addition, the finance minister allocated ₹500 crore for interest-free loans to farmers.

Of the total budget, ₹54,228 crore has been allocated for direct benefit schemes (DBT).

Besides DBT schemes, Rajendranath has earmarked ₹15,882 crore for Health & Family Welfare.

Budget has allocated Rs 9,381 crore for the Municipal Administration & Urban Development, Scheduled Castes Component (₹20,005 crore), Scheduled Tribes Component (₹6,929 crore) and Backward Classes Component (₹38,605 crore).

Housing for Poor was allotted ₹5,600 crore, Roads & Buildings department - ₹9,118 crore, Irrigation – ₹11,908 crore, Energy - ₹6,456 crore, and Village and Ward Secretariats (₹3,858 crore) among others.
