Air India introduces eZ Booking, an AI-driven feature that streamlines the flight booking process through simple text or voice commands.

Air India launches AI-powered eZ booking for simplified reservations

Air India has launched its new AI-powered feature, eZ Booking, on Wednesday, aiming to enhance the flight booking experience.

Currently available exclusively to Maharaja Club members, Air India’s loyalty program, eZ Booking allows customers to book their flights on airindia.com using either text or voice commands, making the process faster and more efficient.

The feature leverages Agentic AI technology to streamline the reservation process.

By reducing the number of steps required, eZ Booking eliminates the need for users to navigate multiple screens. This system mimics human interaction, allowing users to naturally state their travel preferences, such as “Book a flight from Delhi to Mumbai tomorrow” or “Find a round-trip from Chennai to Mumbai next week."

This launch builds on the success of Air India’s AI chatbot, AI.g, which was introduced in May 2023. AI.g has already assisted over 7 million guest queries, maintaining a 97% resolution rate.

Air India also plans to extend the functionality of eZ Booking to its mobile website and app in the coming weeks for wider customer access.

Features of eZ Booking:

  • Natural Language Input: Users can provide travel preferences in simple, everyday language.
  • Voice Input Option: Customers can speak their travel requests for a seamless interaction.
  • Simple Modifications: Users can change itineraries with minimal effort, either by text or voice, without needing to navigate multiple screens.
  • Quick Payment Process: Once satisfied with the booking, customers can quickly pay and receive their e-ticket.

How to Use eZ Booking:

  • Log in to the Maharaja Club section on the official Air India website, www.airindia.com.
  • Click on the eZ Booking tab in the navigation menu.
  • Enter your travel details using text or voice commands (e.g., "Book a flight to Kolkata next Sunday").
  • Review your suggested itinerary, make any changes, and confirm payment.
  • Download your e-ticket immediately after the transaction is completed.
