Missing Nepal plane finally found, crashed near river in hilly area, say reports; was carrying 4 Indians

Hours after a passenger plane went missing in Nepal, it was reportedly found crashed at a village. The plane was carrying 4 Indians among 22 passengers.

Tara Air's 9 NAET twin-engine aircraft was reportedly found at Kowang village in the Mustang mountainous district. The plane crashed at the mouth of the Lamche river, and the Nepal Army was making its way towards the site, as per news agency ANI.

There was no clarity by early evening about the fate of the passengers.

The plane flying from Pokhara to Jomson had gone out of contact while flying over the Lete area of Mustang district on May 29 morning. ANI quoted police as saying that locals from Titi area had informed them about an "unusual sound, like a bang".

The Indians on board were identified as Ashok Kumar Tripathi, Dhanush Tripathi, Ritika Tripathi, and Vaibhawi Tripathi - members of a family from Mumbai in Maharashtra.
