Previously, the Caribbean all-rounder was signed for ₹60 lakh by the Adani-owned side, but before the start of the tournament, she was excluded from the squad on medical grounds.
The Giants had stated that Dottin failed to get medical clearance by the deadline, which was why they replaced her with Australia's Kim Garth. But Dottin refuted the claims made by the franchise.

It took Gujarat Giants 3 games to get off the mark but they finally claimed their first win of WPL 2023 as they beat RCB by 11 runs on Wednesday night.
Gujarat's decision to bat first proved right as a fiery fifty each by Sophia Dunkley &amp; Harleen Deol powered them to 201/7.
In reply, Bangalore lost skipper Smriti Mandhana for 18 but Sophie Devine kept her side in the run chase with a gritty 66.
However, a 30-run cameo off just 11 balls by Heather Knight too couldn't take RCB over the finish line as they have now lost all 3 games so far.
They are now languishing at the bottom of the table while Gujarat leapfrogged RCB to the 4th spot with 1 win out of 3 games.

Put to bat first, Meg Lanning gave Delhi a strong start with her 70 run-knock which was followed by an unbeaten 42 off just 20 balls by Jess Jonassen which helped them post a massive 211 on the board.

Opener Hayley Matthews scored a brilliant 77* run knock and was supported by Nat Sciver-Brunt who got a half-century to her name as well and eventually helped Mumbai chase down the target with more than 5 overs to spare.

There's no stopping Mumbai Indians in the WPL at the moment. Harmanpreet Kaur's side registered their 2nd consecutive at the expense of Royal Challengers Bangalore, who they beat by 9 wickets.
Deciding to bat first, Smriti Mandhana's RCB didn't get a good start as half of the team were sent back to the pavilion inside 9 overs.
Richa Ghosh top-scored for RCB with 28 runs and contributions from the lower order saw the team post 155.

Earlier, players could only review dismissals based on the onfield decisions but now the DRS can be used to review no-balls &amp; wide calls by the umpires.

The modification to the DRS rule is already being tried in the WPL and will also be implemented in the upcoming IPL season.
With each team getting a couple of DRS reviews in each innings, they can now use them to get an umpire's decision overturned regarding wides &amp; no-balls. Earlier, players could only review dismissals based on onfield decisions.
Mumbai Indians already used the new rule during the opening match, when they got a wide call overturned during spinner Saika Ishaque's spell.
In Delhi Capitals vs RCB match, batter Jemimah Rodriques successfully reviewed a full toss call which was not signalled a no-ball earlier.
