WPL 2023: Delhi Capitals beat UP Warriorz, directly enter the final

Delhi Capitals became the first team to qualify for the WPL 2023 final after a 5-wicket win over UP Warriorz at Brabourne Stadium.

Chasing a modest 139-run target on a tricky wicket, Meg Lanning and Shafali Verma gave Delhi a powerful start, stitching a 56-run stand in just 29 balls.

But lost a few wickets in the middle overs for the game to drift into the 18th over. However, Marizanne Kapp's unbeaten 34 runs ensured the Capitals chased down the target with 13 balls to spare.

Earlier, off-spinner Alice Capsey snared three wickets but Tahila McGrath smashed a superb unbeaten fifty to take UP Warriorz to a competitive 138 for six.

Delhi will now play against the Eliminator winner, which will occur between Mumbai Indians and UP on Friday. The final of WPL 2023 will take place on Sunday.
