Bollywood actor Vidya Balan has filed a police complaint with the Khar police, seeking legal action against a perpetrator who created fake email, Instagram, and WhatsApp accounts in her name. According to media reports, an unknown conman used the actor's name to reach out to her close contacts in the entertainment industry to ask for money under the pretense of offering work and collaborating on new projects.&nbsp;
An official from the Khar Police revealed that Vidya became aware of the conman when a designer with whom she had previously collaborated informed her of the fake account. The designer reportedly received a WhatsApp message from an unknown person, claiming to be Vidya Balan, expressing interest in working with him. After their discussion, the unidentified person also promised the designer work opportunities. The official also added that the conman had also approached other contacts of Balan, asking them for money.&nbsp;
&ldquo;This designer immediately contacted the actress to alert her that someone claiming to be her had texted him. Balan was informed about similar activities being done over e-mail as well as on Instagram by other industry contacts,&rdquo; said an official from Khar police.
A case was filed under Section 66(C) of the IT Act, which pertains to dishonestly using another person's unique identity feature. Following the complaint, the police have booked the unknown conman. More details are awaited.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Work-wise, Vidya's most recent appearance was in the 2023 mystery film 'Neeyat'. Vidya Balan talked about her journey of self love at a film festival in Goa and said that her &lsquo;size has never mattered to her when she faces the camera.&rsquo;&nbsp; Vidya at IFFI 2023 In conversation with actor-politician Vani Tripathi Tikoo during a masterclass on Women and Glass Ceiling at the 54th IFFI in Goa, Vidya said, &ldquo;I had realised I was only sending hate towards my body. I was constantly saying it, &lsquo;You are not what I want you to be&rsquo;. And therefore, I was constantly falling sick. I started working with a healer 12 years ago and I realised that you are abusing the very thing that&rsquo;s keeping you alive.&rdquo;&nbsp; She added, &ldquo;It has been a gamechanger since then, because today, however I wake up in the morning, I feel good about myself, and on days I don&rsquo;t, I then tell myself, &lsquo;It&rsquo;s okay, tomorrow will be a new day. Let me live with what I am feeling today&rsquo;. Sometimes, your body also expresses your emotions whether you feel tired, angry, jealous, grateful, hurt, tearful or whatever, but that doesn&rsquo;t make you smaller. I had started to feel small in my bigness, and that&rsquo;s ridiculous. It was almost like I was cowering.&rdquo;&nbsp;
 &ldquo;My size has never mattered to me when I face the camera. I love the camera so much I trust it so much that I believe that it will always love me back,' she said

The OTTplay Awards were held on Saturday night (September 10).

OTTplay Awards: The OTTplay Awards were held last night (September 10) with several Bollywood celebrities in attendance. &nbsp;The inaugural pan- India awards aim to celebrate the excellence of OTT films, shows, actors, and filmmakers, from across the nation. These awards appreciate the efforts of those who have mesmerized us with their performances and kept us hooked on to the binge-worthy entertainment throughout the year. The awards had nominees from various platforms in different languages.&nbsp;
OTTplay Awards were selected by a renowned jury from the film fraternity and also veteran journalists. Filmmakers Aanand L Rai, Ashwini Iyer Tiwari, and actors Divya Dutta and Adil Hussain were part of the jury. Shows and films released between June 1, 2021, and July 31, 2022, were eligible for the awards this year.&nbsp;

Vidya Balan has started filming for her next project titled, "Neeyat". The murder mystery is helmed by Anu Menon.
Taking to her Instagram handle, the 'Jalsa' actor shared a photo with Anu and Vikram Malhotra. Vidya wrote, "Excited to begin shooting one of the most engaging scripts I have read in the recent times, with some of my favourite people - @directormenon & @ivikramix All I can say is expect the unexpected #Neeyat, Filming Begins (sic)."
However, this is not the first time that Balan has signed up for a film with Anu Menon. She has earlier worked with him in 'Shakuntala Devi'.
The story is written by Menon, Advaita Kala, and Girvani Dhyani. The screenplay is credited to Menon, Priya Venkataraman, Kala, and Dhyani while the dialogues are by Kausar Munir.
Vidya Balan will essay the role of detective Mira Rao in the film. 'Neeyat' also stars Ram Kapoor, Rahul Bose, Mita Vasisht, Neeraj Kabi, Shahana Goswami, Dipannita Sharma, Amrita Puri, Shashank Arora, Prajakta Koli and Danish Razvi, among others.
