<p>Stock market benchmark indices extended their previous day's rally in early trade on Thursday, with the Nifty hitting its fresh record high amid favourable global trends on growing hopes of a US Fed rate cut and foreign fund inflows.</p>
<p>The 30-share BSE Sensex advanced 313.38 points to 85,922.89 in early trade. The 50-share NSE Nifty rallied 90.25 points to hit an all-time high of 26,295.55. The broader index had earlier scaled its record intra-day high of 26,277 on September 27, 2024.</p>
<p>From the Sensex firms, Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv, ICICI Bank, Larsen &amp; Toubro, Asian Paints and Mahindra &amp; Mahindra were among the biggest gainers. However, Eternal, Kotak Mahindra Bank, UltraTech Cement and Maruti were among the laggards.</p>
<p>In Asian markets, South Korea's Kospi, Japan's Nikkei 225 index, Shanghai's SSE Composite index and Hong Kong's Hang Seng index were trading in positive territory. US markets ended higher on Wednesday.</p>
<p>Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) bought equities worth Rs 4,778.03 crore on Wednesday, according to exchange data. Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) also purchased stocks worth Rs 6,247.93 crore in the previous trade.</p>
<p>"Expectation of a rate cut by the Fed and a possible Russia-Ukraine peace accord have improved sentiments for equity markets globally," VK Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist, Geojit Investments Limited, said.</p>
<p>Brent crude, the global oil benchmark, dipped 0.48 per cent to USD 62.83 per barrel.</p>
<p>"Global equity markets have extended their gains, buoyed by growing expectations of interest-rate cuts by the US Federal Reserve. Major US indices &mdash; including the S&amp;P 500, Dow Jones, and Nasdaq &mdash; posted another session of solid advances as softer Treasury yields and renewed policy optimism strengthened risk appetite. This upbeat sentiment has carried into today&rsquo;s global trade, with Asian markets opening higher," Ponmudi R, CEO of Enrich Money, an online trading and wealth tech firm, said.</p>
<p>On Wednesday, the Sensex jumped 1,022.50 points or 1.21 per cent to settle at 85,609.51. The Nifty zoomed 320.50 points or 1.24 per cent to end at 26,205.30.</p>

<p>The 30-share BSE Sensex dropped 55 points to 83,923.48 in early trade. The 50-share NSE Nifty dipped 40.95 points to 25,722.40.</p>
<p>From the Sensex firms, Power Grid, Eternal, HCL Tech, Maruti, Tata Motors and Infosys were among the major laggards. However, Bharti Airtel, Titan, Reliance Industries and Mahindra &amp; Mahindra were the gainers.</p>
<p>Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) offloaded equities worth Rs 1,883.78 crore on Monday, according to exchange data. Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs), however, bought stocks worth Rs 3,516.36 crore in the previous trade.</p>
<p>"FIIs renewed selling is constraining the rally in the market. During the last four days FIIs have sold equity worth Rs 14,269 crore. This is an indication that they will continue to sell on rallies. Higher valuations in India and muted earnings growth are restraining FIIs who are more focused on cheaper markets with better earnings growth," V K Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist, Geojit Investments Limited, said.</p>
<p>In Asian markets, South Korea's Kospi, Japan's Nikkei 225 index and Shanghai's SSE Composite index quoted lower while Hong Kong's Hang Seng index traded in positive territory. US markets ended mostly higher on Monday. Global oil benchmark Brent crude dipped 0.20 per cent to USD 64.76 a barrel.</p>
<p>On Monday, the Sensex inched up by 39.78 points or 0.05 per cent to settle at 83,978.49. The Nifty eked out a marginal gain of 41.25 points or 0.16 per cent to end at 25,763.35.</p>

<p>Shares of LG Electronics India Ltd on Tuesday made a stunning market debut, listing with a premium of over 50 per cent, against the issue price of Rs 1,140 per share.</p>
<p>The stock started trading at Rs 1,715, surging 50.43 per cent from the issue price on the BSE. Later, it zoomed 52.31 per cent to Rs 1,736.40.</p>
<p>At the NSE, the stock made its market debut at Rs 1,710.10, registering a premium of 50 per cent.</p>
<p>The company's market valuation stood at Rs 1,12,380.95 crore during the morning trade.</p>
<p>The initial public offering of LG Electronics India Ltd received 54.02 times subscription on the final day of bidding on Thursday, driven by overwhelming participation from institutional buyers.</p>
<p>The Rs 11,607-crore IPO had a price band of Rs 1,080 to Rs 1,140 per share.</p>
<p>This is the second South Korean company to tap the Indian stock market, following the listing of Hyundai Motors India Ltd in October last year.</p>
<p>The IPO was entirely an Offer-For-Sale (OFS) of 10.18 crore shares, representing about 15 per cent stake, by the South Korea-based parent.</p>
<p>LG Electronics India is a leading player in major home appliances and consumer electronics. The company's products are sold to both B2C and B2B customers in India and abroad. It also provides installation, repair, and maintenance services for all its products.</p>
<p>The company manufactures and sells products, including washing machines, refrigerators, LED TV panels, inverter air conditioners, and microwaves. It has manufacturing units at Noida, Uttar Pradesh and Pune, Maharashtra.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Sensex surged 889 points and Nifty 266 in early trade as investors cheered the GST Council&rsquo;s tax reforms, with Mahindra &amp; Mahindra, Bajaj Finance, and Tata Motors among top gainers.</p>

<p>Benchmark equity indices Sensex and Nifty surged in early trade on Thursday as investors became cheerful after the GST Council approved a complete overhaul of the tangled Goods and Services Tax regime.</p>
<p>The 30-share BSE Sensex jumped 888.96 points to 81,456.67 in opening trade. The 50-share NSE Nifty surged 265.7 points to 24,980.75.</p>
<p>Common use items from roti/paratha to hair oil, ice creams and TVs will cost less, while tax incidence on personal health and life insurance will be brought down to nil after the all-powerful GST Council on Wednesday approved a complete overhaul of the tangled Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime.</p>
<p>The GST Council approved limiting slabs to 5 per cent and 18 per cent, effective from September 22, the first day of Navaratri.</p>
<p>From the Sensex firms, Mahindra &amp; Mahindra jumped the most by over 7.50 per cent. Bajaj Finance, Hindustan Unilever, Bajaj Finserv, ITC, Tata Motors and UltraTech Cement were also among the gainers.</p>
<p>However, Eternal, Tata Steel, NTPC and HCL Tech were among the laggards.</p>
<p>"The revolutionary GST reform has come better-than-expected benefitting a wide spectrum of sectors. The ultimate beneficiary is the Indian consumer who will benefit from lower prices. The potential big boost to consumption in an economy that is already in growth momentum will be big and may surprise on the upside," VK Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist, Geojit Investments Limited, said.</p>
<p>He further added that after the initial enthusiasm, tariff issues will continue to haunt the market.</p>
<p>In Asian markets, South Korea's Kospi and Japan's Nikkei 225 index traded in positive territory while Shanghai's SSE Composite index and Hong Kong's Hang Seng quoted lower.</p>
<p>US markets ended mostly higher on Wednesday.</p>
<p>Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) offloaded equities worth Rs 1,666.46 crore on Wednesday, while Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) bought stocks worth Rs 2,495.33 crore, according to exchange data.</p>

<p>Equity benchmark index Sensex tumbled 849 points to slip below the 80,000 level on Tuesday due to widespread selling pressure after the US issued a draft notice over the implementation of an additional 25 per cent tariff on Indian products.</p>
<p>Besides, persistent foreign fund outflows and a weak global trend also dampened investors' sentiment.</p>
<p>The 30-share BSE Sensex benchmark tumbled 849.37 points, or 1.04 per cent, to close at 80,786.54. During the day, the index nosedived 949.93 points, or 1.16 per cent, to hit a low of 80,685.98.</p>
<p>The 50-share NSE Nifty dropped 255.70 points, or 1.02 per cent, to finish at 24,712.05. In the intra-day session, it dived 278.15 points, or 1.11 per cent, to hit a low of 24,689.60.</p>
<p>Among Sensex shares, Sun Pharmaceutical, Tata Steel, Trent, Bajaj Finance, Mahindra &amp; Mahindra, Bajaj Finserv, Reliance Industries, Axis Bank, Tech Mahindra, Adani Ports, Titan, BEL, and Larsen &amp; Toubro were the major laggards.</p>
<p>However, Hindustan Unilever, Maruti Suzuki India, ITC, Tata Consultancy Services and UltraTech Cement were the gainers.</p>
<p>The US has issued a draft order implementing an additional 25 per cent tariff on Indian products, which President Donald Trump announced earlier this month, beginning August 27.</p>
<p>According to the draft notice released by the Department of Homeland Security, the additional tariffs will cover Indian products "that are entered for consumption, or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption, on or after 12:01 am Eastern Daylight Time on August 27, 2025".</p>
<p>The notice explained that the higher levies were linked to "threats to the US by the government of the Russian Federation," with India targeted in line with that strategy.</p>
<p>In Asian markets, Hong Kong's Hang Seng, Japan's Nikkei 225 index, South Korea's Kospi and Shanghai's SSE Composite index closed in the negative territory.</p>
<p>The European markets were trading lower. US markets ended lower on Monday.</p>
<p>Global oil benchmark Brent crude declined 1.48 per cent to USD 67.78 a barrel.</p>
<p>Foreign Institutional Investors offloaded equities worth Rs 2,466.24 crore on Monday, according to the exchange data.</p>

<p>Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty declined in early trade on Tuesday after the US issued a draft notice over the implementation of an additional 25 per cent tariff on Indian imports.</p>
<p>Additionally, persistent foreign fund outflows and a weak trend in Asian markets also dampened sentiment.</p>
<p>The 30-share BSE Sensex tumbled 606.97 points or 0.74 per cent to 81,028.94 in early trade. The 50-share NSE Nifty went lower by 182.25 points or 0.73 per cent to 24,785.50.</p>
<p>From the Sensex firms, Sun Pharmaceutical, Tata Steel, Adani Ports, ICICI Bank, Bharti Airtel, Power Grid, Bharat Electronics Ltd, HDFC Bank, NTPC and Tata Motors were the laggards.</p>
<p>Hindustan Unilever and Tata Consultancy Services were the only gainers.</p>
<p>On Monday, the United States issued a draft order implementing an additional 25 per cent tariff on Indian imports, which President Donald Trump had announced earlier, beginning August 27.</p>

<p>"The biggest headwind for Indian markets remains whether Nifty can scale the 'Wall of Worry' around the 50 per cent Trump tariff set to kick in on August 27, which threatens to make almost all of India's USD 86.5 billion exports to the US commercially unviable," Prashanth Tapse, Senior VP (Research) at Mehta Equities Ltd, said.</p>
<p>Moreover, Tapse said, RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra has assured policy action if US tariffs hurt domestic growth.</p>
<p>In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei 225 index, South Korea's Kospi, and Hong Kong's Hang Seng were trading lower while Shanghai's SSE Composite index was quoted in positive territory.</p>
<p>US markets ended lower in overnight deals on Monday.</p>
<p>Foreign Institutional Investors offloaded equities worth Rs 2,466.24 crore on Monday, according to the exchange data.</p>
<p>"Despite sluggish earnings growth and headwinds like high tariffs, the market continues to be resilient. Resilient market co-existing with tepid earnings growth has made India the most expensive market in the world.</p>
<p>"Consequently, FIIs have been sustained sellers, but massive DII (Domestic Institutional Investor) buying, totally eclipsing FII selling, is supporting the market even amidst strong headwind," VK Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist at Geojit Investments, said.</p>
<p>Since the principal reason for the market's resilience is liquidity and liquidity flows are likely to sustain, the market is unlikely to correct significantly, and the elevated valuations may continue, Vijayakumar added.</p>
<p>Global oil benchmark Brent crude was trading 0.48 per cent lower at USD 68.47 per barrel.</p>

<p>"There are strong tailwinds for the market with potential to take it higher. Declarations by the prime minister on the next major reforms in GST by Diwali are a big positive. S&amp;P upgrading India&rsquo;s sovereign credit rating is another major positive," VK Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist, Geojit Investments Limited, said.</p>
<p>Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said the Centre has circulated the draft of the next-generation GST reforms among states and sought their cooperation to implement the proposal before Diwali.</p>
<p>Modi had announced the proposal to reform the GST law in his Independence Day speech on August 15 from the ramparts of the Red Fort.</p>
<p>"The expectation is that most of the goods and services will be in the 5 per cent and 18 per cent tax slabs. Sectors like autos and cement, which are presently in the 28 per cent tax slabs, are expected to benefit. TVS Motors, Hero, Eicher, M&amp;M and Maruti are likely to respond positively to the news. Insurance companies are also expected to benefit from the GST revision," Vijayakumar added.</p>
<p>In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei 225 index, Shanghai's SSE Composite index and Hong Kong's Hang Seng traded in positive territory while South Korea's Kospi quoted lower.</p>
<p>The US markets ended mostly lower on Friday.</p>
<p>Global oil benchmark Brent crude dipped 0.05 per cent to USD 65.82 a barrel.</p>
<p>Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) offloaded equities worth Rs 1,926.76 crore on Thursday, according to exchange data.</p>
<p>On Thursday, the Sensex climbed 57.75 points or 0.07 per cent to settle at 80,597.66. The Nifty rose by 11.95 points or 0.05 per cent to 24,631.30.</p>

<p>Equity markets declined sharply on Friday due to continued foreign fund outflows and concerns over US tariffs on Indian imports, dragging key benchmark indices lower.</p>

<p>Equity benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty tumbled on Friday amid non-stop foreign fund outflows and tariff-related jitters.</p>
<p>The 30-share BSE Sensex tanked 765.47 points or 0.95 per cent to settle at 79,857.79. During the day, it tumbled 847.42 points or 1.05 per cent to 79,775.84.</p>
<p>The 50-share NSE Nifty dropped 232.85 points or 0.95 per cent to 24,363.30.</p>
<p>From the Sensex firms, Bharti Airtel, Tata Motors, Mahindra &amp; Mahindra, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Axis Bank and Reliance Industries were among the laggards.</p>
<p>However, NTPC, Titan, Trent, ITC and Bajaj Finserv were the gainers.</p>
<p>Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) offloaded equities worth Rs 4,997.19 crore on Thursday, according to exchange data. Domestic Institutional Investors (DII), however, bought stocks worth Rs 10,864.04 crore in the previous trade.</p>
<p>The initial 25 per cent tariffs announced by the US on Indian imports came into effect Thursday.</p>
<p>In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei 225 index settled in positive territory, while South Korea's Kospi, Shanghai's SSE Composite index and Hong Kong's Hang Seng ended lower.</p>
<p>European markets were trading mostly in the green.</p>
<p>The US markets ended on a mixed note on Thursday.</p>
<p>Global oil benchmark Brent crude climbed 0.59 per cent to USD 66.82 a barrel.</p>
<p>On Thursday, the Sensex edged higher by 79.27 points or 0.10 per cent to settle at 80,623.26. The Nifty went up by 21.95 points or 0.09 per cent to 24,596.15.</p>
