Streaming platform Netflix has announced a documentary film, titled ‘Modern Masters: SS Rajamouli’, on the celebrated filmmaker best known for pan-India blockbusters like ‘Baahubali’ and ‘RRR’.

Streaming platform Netflix on Saturday announced a documentary film, titled &lsquo;Modern Masters: SS Rajamouli&rsquo;, on the celebrated filmmaker best known for pan-India blockbusters &lsquo;Baahubali&rsquo; and &lsquo;RRR&rsquo;.&nbsp;
The announcement comes days after Rajamouli was inducted in the Director&rsquo;s branch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The upcoming biographical documentary is produced by Applause Entertainment and Film Companion Studios. It is directed by Raghav Khanna. The biographical documentary is set to premiere on August 2.&nbsp;
According to the makers, &lsquo;Modern Masters: SS Rajamouli' will encapsulate the filmmaker's creative universe, showcasing his profound influence on Indian and international cinema, his enduring legacy, and his innovative contributions to filmmaking.&nbsp;
In addition to this, it will feature an interview with Rajamouli, also known for action movies such as &lsquo;Eega&rsquo; and &lsquo;Magadheera&rsquo; and the man behind the best original song Oscar winning film &lsquo;RRR&rsquo;.&nbsp;
The documentary film will shed light on untold stories and perspectives from the director's family, close friends, celebrated filmmakers such as James Cameron, Joe Russo, and Karan Johar, as well as actors Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Jr NTR, and Ram Charan. Monika Shergill, Vice-President Content, Netflix India, said the audience will be enthralled by the journey of the &lsquo;RRR&rsquo; filmmaker in &lsquo;Modern Masters: S.S. Rajamouli&rsquo;.&nbsp;

Filmmaker SS Rajamouli took to social media on April 30 to announce his new series &lsquo;Baahubali: Crown of Blood&rsquo;. The director, who helmed the two-part Baahubali films, shared a video announcing the title. He also confirmed that the trailer will be released soon.
The announcement video features the title emerging from the smoke. The video also featured people chanting, &lsquo;Baahubali.&rsquo;

The filmmaker is yet to share more details about the cast and story. Baahubali has previously been adapted into animation. In 2017, Rajamouli launched &lsquo;Baahubali: The Lost Legends,&rsquo; a four-season animated series available on Amazon Prime Video.

It has been reported that Japan was hit by an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.3.

MM Keeravani, music composer of &lsquo;RRR&rsquo;s Oscar-winning song &lsquo;Naatu Naatu&rsquo;, paid tribute to The Carpenters by singing his version of &lsquo;Top Of The World&rsquo; in his acceptance speech at the 95th Academy Awards. He has now received a special reply from singer Richard Carpenter.
Richard shared a video on Instagram in which he, along with his daughters can be seen performing to a rejigged version of &lsquo;Top Of The World&rsquo; with the lyrics, &lsquo;We're on the top of the world for your winning creation and we hope you know how proud of you we are. You're the best there is around and we hope you know it now, your win puts us at the top of the world.&rsquo;

SS Rajamouli admits speeding up ‘RRR’s sequel after ‘Naatu Naatu’s Oscar win 

SS Rajamouli said, ‘[Oscar win] is going to put some acceleration in the script’. 

SS Rajamouli agreed that after winning the Oscar for 'Naatu Naatu', they will now speed up work on the sequel.

&lsquo;Naatu Naatu&rsquo; from SS Rajamouli&rsquo;s &lsquo;RRR&rsquo; won the Oscar for Best Original Song. Soon after the big win, the director was asked about the sequel of the film in an interview. Talking to Hollywood trade magazine Variety, Rajamouli admitted that the Oscar win will speed up work on the sequel which is being written by his father, screenwriter Vijayendra Prasad.
Composer Keeravaani added that saying about the progress of the sequel was a &lsquo;tricky question&rsquo;.

Earlier,<a href="https://www.editorji.com/entertainment-news/bollywood/rrr-fans-cheer-for-ss-rajamouli-ram-charan-others-at-the-us-screening-watch-here-1677768918746"> SS Rajamouli</a> had said that he hadn't planned to make a sequel of &lsquo;RRR&rsquo;. However, after the film became a blockbuster, he started considering making it.
In an interview with Variety, he said, &lsquo;After the international success, when the topic came up again, my cousin (MM Keeravaani) &mdash; who is also a part of my core team &mdash; gave an idea which we felt like, &lsquo;Oh my God, this is a great idea. This is the idea that is worth pursuing.&rsquo;&rsquo; He also discussed with his dad to expand the idea and to begin the work as soon as possible.
The director further added, &lsquo;At present, he&rsquo;s seriously working on the story; he&rsquo;s getting it done. But once this script is done is when we really look into how to make it, when to make it, and how to bring it onto the screen.&rsquo;&nbsp;

In an exclusive conversation with Entertainment Tonight, Ram Charan was questioned if he&rsquo;s ready for the Oscars. To which he replied, 'I don&rsquo;t know if I will ever be ready for the Oscars. I am nervous, I am excited. I don&rsquo;t know if I will walk the red carpet, as a fanboy or as an actor.
He added, 'Everybody I have grown up watching. I cannot name them, but I am especially excited to see Cate Blanchett and Tom Cruise this Oscars. I have watched him in Top Gun until now, he is incredible.'

Over 1,600 tickets were sold and many people stood in long queues to watch the period drama on the big screen.

Responding to the tweet, a few of the actor's fans mentioned that Jr NTR lost a cousin recently. The official handle replied, saying, &lsquo;He was originally shooting a movie, which is why he couldn&rsquo;t attend. His brother passing happened afterwards and is why he stepped away from the movie. This is what his publicist told us.&rsquo;
Jr NTR's cousin Nandamuri Taraka Ratna died in a Bengaluru hospital last week. He was hospitalised after he collapsed during a rally in last month.&nbsp;

SS Rajamouli's magnum opus &lsquo;RRR&rsquo; received critical acclaim and won hearts of millions around the world. However, the film, which is a fictional story based on the lives of two Telugu freedom fighters, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem, also received criticism with regards to the political agenda the story caters to. Many people accused the director of supporting the BJP agenda.
In a recent interview with The New Yorker, the filmmaker reacted to the accusations. Rajamouli was asked if there was &lsquo;pressure being put on you, whether anti-Muslim or pro-nationalist, from BJP supporters or even the RSS.&rsquo;
Rajamouli said, &lsquo;No, never directly, never.&rsquo; He said that no one had &lsquo;ever approached me to make an agenda film, whatever the agenda is.&rsquo; He said, &lsquo;Sometimes Muslims have had objections, sometimes Hindus, sometimes different castes.&rsquo; The director added that he wanted to &lsquo;distance&rsquo; himself &lsquo;from either Hindu or pseudo-liberal propaganda.&rsquo;
Explaining the ideas behind the stories of &lsquo;Baahubali&rsquo; and &lsquo;RRR&rsquo;, Rajamouli said, &lsquo;First of all, everyone knows the Baahubali movies are fictional, so there is nothing for me to say about whether it is a distortion of history to portray historic characters to suit the present BJP&rsquo;s agenda. As for RRR, this is not a documentary. This is not a historical lesson. It&rsquo;s a fictional take on characters, which has been done many times in the past. We also just talked about Mayabazar &mdash; if RRR is a distortion of history, Mayabazar is a distortion of the historic epic .&rsquo;
Rajamouli added, &lsquo;I&rsquo;d also like to point out one more thing to people who accuse me of supporting the BJP or the BJP&rsquo;s agenda: when we first released an early character design of Bheem, I showed him wearing a Muslim skullcap [to disguise himself]. After that, a BJP leader threatened to burn down theatres showing RRR, and said he would beat me in the road if we didn&rsquo;t remove the cap. So people can decide for themselves whether I&rsquo;m a BJP person or not.&rsquo;
