Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday met the youths protesting at the Parade Ground here against the alleged paper leak in a graduate level examination last week and assured them that the state will recommend a CBI probe.
He said an SIT under the supervision of a retired High Court judge has already started its investigation into the allegations related to the exam conducted by the Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission.
But since the students are still demanding a CBI investigation, the government will recommend it, Dhami said.
"There will be no obstruction in this matter. The government doesn't want to leave any doubts or suspicions in the minds of the youth," Dhami said.
The government's sole resolve is to ensure a completely transparent examination process, the chief minister said.
Steps taken over the past four years, including the introduction of the country's toughest anti-cheating (copying) law in the state and the arrest of around a hundred members of the cheating mafia, have been in keeping with that resolve, he said.
The chief minister said that the government has conducted more than 25,000 government recruitments in a transparent manner in the last four years, and there have been no complaints.
The paper leak complaint has been raised in only one case.
Therefore, the government is fully committed to removing all doubts from the minds of the youth, he said.
After listening to the youth's perspective, the chief minister said he was unhappy with the fact that the youths were protesting in the heat during this festive season.
He said he could have had this conversation with them in his office also, but seeing their suffering, he decided to come to the protest site and meet them.
Dhami had said on Sunday that he was ready for any investigation into the alleged paper leak if required, including by the CBI, but the SIT should be allowed to finish its probe first.
He also assured the protesting youths that if any cases were filed against them during the protest, they would be withdrawn.&nbsp;

Ten people are missing after a landslide flattened houses in a village and a river flooded another following heavy rain on Thursday in Chamoli district's Nandanagar, which is already reeling from land subsidence.
Eight people, including four members of a family, are missing in Kuntari village, where the landslide hit about half a dozen houses. The other two are from Dhurma village, where the raging waters of the Moksha river damaged multiple buildings, Chamoli District Magistrate (DM) Sandeep Tiwari said.
In Kuntari, local relief and rescue teams are conducting a search operation for those missing. The access road to Nandanagar has been blocked by debris, the DM said.
According to a list issued by the district disaster management office, those missing have been identified as Kunwar Singh (42), his wife Kanta Devi (38) and their two sons Vikas and Vishal (both aged 10), Narendra Singh (40), Jagdamba Prasad (70) and his wife Bhaga Devi (65), and Deveshwari Devi (65).
A local resident and the vice-president of the district branch of the Indian Red Cross, Nandan Singh, who is involved in the relief and rescue operations, said the swamp is hampering the rescue operation.
More than 10 people were injured but transporting them to the hospital is difficult as the road to Nandanagar is closed at several places, he said.
"We are waiting for helicopters to airlift the injured to hospital," he said.
Torrents of mud and boulders rolled down from the hills at three locations in Kuntari, destroying everything in their way, he added.
When the landslide hit the houses, Singh said, some of the people inside managed to escape. They sustained injuries, he said.
In the Mokh Valley area, heavy rain triggered flooding in the Moksha river, causing erosion in it from Dhurma to Sera, damaging dozens of buildings, including six houses. Two persons are missing.
Those missing in Dhurma have been identified as Guman Singh (75) and Mamta Devi (38), the district disaster management office said.
National Disaster Response Force and State Disaster Response Force teams, along with a medical team and three ambulances, have been rushed to the spot, it said.
Land subsidence hit parts of Nandanagar in August, with cracks appearing in the walls of many houses. Their residents were shifted to safe locations.
In a post on X, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said, "Sad news of damage to nearby homes due to heavy rainfall in the Nandanagar Ghat area of Chamoli district has been received. Teams from the local administration, @uksdrf, and police immediately reached the spot and are engaged in relief and rescue operations." "I am in constant touch with the administration and closely monitoring the situation. I pray for everyone's safety," he said.
The landslide comes two days after heavy rain and cloudbursts in Dehradun and nearby areas breached several roads, washed away bridges and damaged houses, killing 13 people and leaving 16 missing.&nbsp;

The meeting brought together the Director Generals of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), along with the Director General of Police, Uttarakhand.
Sharing an update on X, CM Dhami posted, "A high-level meeting was held today with DG @ITBP_official, DG @NDRFHQ, and DGP @uttarakhandcops regarding the ongoing relief and rescue operations in Uttarkashi district. During the meeting, discussions were held on the progress of the rescue operations, ground-level challenges, and strengthening mutual coordination, with necessary directives issued."

He added, "Detailed discussions were held on topics such as rapid access to disaster-affected areas, prompt rescue of stranded individuals, deployment of teams in remote areas, heli-lifting operations, and the availability of essential resources. Necessary instructions were also given regarding the swift restoration of communication, electricity, and road connectivity, as well as the smooth supply of relief materials."
Meanwhile, search and rescue efforts remain underway in Dharali town, one of the worst-affected areas in Uttarkashi district, where flash floods triggered by torrential rainfall caused severe damage to hotels and residential structures earlier this week.
Garhwal Division Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey told ANI, "Yesterday, we evacuated nearly 382 people. Our operation is going on in three directions. We are evacuating pilgrims stranded in Gangotri, who have come from outside the state. We are restoring road connectivity. Third is clearing the debris and looking for the missing people in the worst-affected Dharali, and also the listing of the loss to public and private property."
The state continues to face widespread disruptions due to heavy monsoon rains, especially in its upper mountainous regions. Two cloudbursts on Tuesday&mdash;one in Dharali and another in the Sukhi Top area nearby&mdash;led to extensive devastation, with Dharali facing the most significant impact.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has pledged to donate his one month's salary to support disaster relief efforts in Uttarkashi following flashfloods triggered by a cloudburst, according to a release from his office.
The Chief Minister's Office stated that the state government is conducting relief and rescue operations on a war footing in the Dharali and Harshil areas of Uttarkashi district.
The CM also appealed to public representatives, officials, voluntary organisations and citizens to "cooperate" in the relief work "according to their capacity", the statement added.

Meanwhile, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has intensified its operations in the state. NDRF Deputy Inspector General Mohsen Shahedi said on Thursday, "18 teams of NDRF have been deployed in Uttarakhand. Four teams of NDRF have been deployed in Dharali; other teams are on standby... A joint operation has been launched to carry out the rescue operations... 274&ndash;275 people have been rescued so far."
In a parallel effort, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) confirmed on Thursday that 21 more civilians stranded in Gangotri were evacuated by helicopter from Nelong to Harsil in Uttarkashi district.
Speaking to reporters, Amit Kumar from the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) said, "Our four machines are working in this operation. The Director General of Border Roads and our chief also visited here. At least 20&ndash;40 houses are still buried and fully damaged... So far, 150&ndash;175 people have been rescued by BRO, ITBP, NDRF, and SDRF. A total of five bodies have been recovered so far."
Earlier on Wednesday, the Uttarakhand government informed ANI that 274 individuals stranded in Gangotri and nearby areas had been safely evacuated to Harshil. The group includes 131 people from Gujarat, 123 from Maharashtra, 21 from Madhya Pradesh, 12 from Uttar Pradesh, six from Rajasthan, seven from Delhi, five from Assam, five from Karnataka, three from Telangana, and one from Punjab.
All evacuees are safe and are being transported to Uttarkashi or Dehradun.

As part of the Uttarkashi Disaster Relief Operation, Uttarakhand Police reported that those rescued were transported from Harshil to Jollygrant Airport in Dehradun on Thursday using a Chinook helicopter. Medical screenings are being conducted for all evacuees upon arrival.
Relief and rescue efforts are ongoing at full scale, with coordinated support from the Uttarakhand Police, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Indian Army, Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and other allied agencies.
Earlier, CM Dhami also visited the Matli Helipad in Uttarkashi district, where he met people airlifted from flood-hit Dharali village. The evacuation was carried out through a joint multi-agency operation involving the ITBP, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), SDRF, and local authorities.&nbsp;
The Chief Minister assured the evacuees of full support from the state government and interacted with team members from NDRF, SDRF, and the administration involved in the upcoming rescue operations.
According to government inputs to ANI, evacuation flights commenced early Thursday. By 9:30 am, 44 individuals had been rescued from Dharali and Harsil by ITBP helicopters and transported to Matli. Among the rescued was one injured person, who was taken to Matli for immediate medical care. All those rescued are now being shifted to safer zones where they are receiving medical and logistical support.
In Rudraprayag district, persistent rainfall forced a temporary halt to the Kedarnath Yatra on Tuesday. Rudraprayag Police stated that pilgrims returning from Kedarnath Dham were safely assisted by the police and SDRF teams. Authorities cleared blockages along the Gaurikund-Sonprayag route to ensure that pilgrims could be moved to secure areas without incident.
Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Anand Vardhan is overseeing the evolving situation and relief activities from the State Emergency Operations Centre. The state is grappling with widespread monsoon-related challenges, particularly in hilly and remote areas, necessitating extensive evacuation and coordinated rescue measures.
Earlier in the day, NDRF Deputy Inspector General Gambhir Singh Chauhan said that aerial services have been deployed to evacuate stranded individuals. He highlighted the difficulties posed by damaged road networks and limited accessibility, saying, "We have four teams, but since all the roads have been blocked and damaged, they couldn't reach Dharali. Yesterday, 35 personnel were able to reach via helicopters. With the helicopter services beginning, the to-and-fro movement of personnel and evacuees has begun. There was a communication issue as well, but since this morning, our satellite phones have been working. State administration, army, ITBP, NDRF, SDRF and even local people are helping each other in the search and rescue operations."
Drone footage from Bhatwari, on the route to Dharali, showed the extent of road destruction caused by a cloudburst and subsequent mudslides, which significantly delayed the initial rescue response.
Survivors, many of whom were pilgrims en route to Gangotri, shared their experiences and praised the efforts of the rescuers. Arohi Mehra, a tourist from Jalgaon, Maharashtra, recalled, "I was very scared when all of this happened. The villagers helped us a lot. We got a lot of strength when we saw our jawans of the Indian Army."
Another tourist from Jalgaon, Rupesh Mehra, pointed to the logistical hurdles, saying, "Roads have been blocked there. We were rescued with helicopters. We got a lot of help from all the agencies deployed there, and we were taken out from there."
Anamika Mehra, part of the same group, shared her account: "When the incident took place, we were near Dharali. We were on our way to Gangotri for darshan... The next day, the entire country was there to support us. All the teams reached there to rescue us. I want to thank the Indian Army and the Uttarakhand Police. I want to salute the Uttarakhand Govt for providing us with heli service immediately and rescuing us," Mehra told ANI.
On Wednesday, around 190 people were rescued from Dharali following a powerful cloudburst that unleashed flash floods and landslides. The Indian Army, Indian Air Force (IAF), ITBP, NDRF, SDRF, Border Roads Organisation (BRO), and local volunteers have since been conducting joint operations to search for and assist those impacted. The ongoing relief and rescue mission continues to be carried out on a war footing.

Among the victims was Mahendra Chauhan, who shared his distress over missing family members. He said, "CM Dhami has assured that very soon, heli services will be started so that people can be rescued from the spot. My sister, her husband and their child have been missing since yesterday. After this incident, I have not been able to speak to them..."
Another resident of Dharali village expressed similar concern about his missing family. He stated, "I am from Dharali village and my younger brother and his family have been missing since yesterday. CM Dhami stated that we are awaiting an improvement in the weather to airlift people to safer locations. CM has assured us that all possible efforts are being made to rescue the people safely..."
PM Modi Reviews Situation, Assures Central Support
Earlier in the day, CM Dhami chaired a disaster management review meeting at the State Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) to evaluate the situation in Dharali. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also spoke with CM Dhami to get updates on the disaster and the status of ongoing relief operations.
As per an official release, CM Dhami informed the Prime Minister that despite weather-related challenges, all concerned departments are actively involved in rescue and relief work. PM Modi, in turn, assured full support from the central government.
Aerial Survey and On-Ground Operations Continue
The Chief Minister also visited the Joshiyada helipad and conducted an aerial survey to assess the damage caused by the cloudburst. He reviewed the affected areas and monitored the ongoing rescue efforts on the ground.
Rescue operations are currently underway with the combined efforts of the Indian Army, ITBP, SDRF, NDRF, and local volunteers. Both the state and central governments are coordinating closely to ensure that relief reaches the affected areas as quickly as possible.

Two cloudbursts, reported in Dharali and Sukhi Top, triggered flash floods and landslides that damaged homes, shops, and roads. Dharali witnessed the most severe impact. The Uttarkashi-Harsil road was blocked in several stretches, and the road at Bhatwadi was completely washed away. Heavy machinery, including JCBs, has been deployed to restore connectivity.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached out to CM Dhami to get updates on the situation. &ldquo;I express my condolences to the people affected by this tragedy in Dharali, Uttarkashi. Along with this, I pray for the well-being of all the victims. I have spoken to Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami and obtained information about the situation,&rdquo; PM Modi said in a post on X.

A 16-member Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) team has reached Dharali from its 12th battalion stationed at Matli in Uttarakhand while another unit of the same strength has also been asked to rush to the cloudburst site, the officials said.

According to a notification from the Uttarakhand State Election Commission, Panchayat elections are being conducted in two phases across 12 districts, excluding Haridwar. The second phase of voting is scheduled for July 28, and counting will take place on July 31.
The announcement follows the Nainital High Court&rsquo;s decision to lift its earlier stay on the election process issued on June 23. The court&rsquo;s approval, granted on July 19, cleared the way for the continuation of the electoral process.

He further stated that the decision would boost the agricultural economy and serve as a significant step towards sustainable growth. This decision will not only strengthen the economy of the country's food providers but also set a strong example for India in the direction of sustainable development with the balanced use of natural resources," his post added.
In a key move, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by Prime Minister Modi, also approved enhanced investment autonomy for Maharatna PSU NTPC. The decision raises NTPC&rsquo;s limit for renewable energy investments from ₹7,500 crore to ₹20,000 crore, with a target of achieving 60 GW capacity by 2032.
The expanded delegation of authority to NTPC and its subsidiary NGEL is expected to speed up the development of renewable energy projects across India. This initiative is also seen as critical to strengthening the country&rsquo;s power infrastructure and ensuring continuous, reliable electricity access.
Moreover, these renewable energy projects are projected to create both direct and indirect employment during their construction and operational phases.
An official release from the CCEA noted, "This shall provide boost to local suppliers, local enterprises/ MSMEs and shall encourage the entrepreneurship opportunities within the country besides promoting employment and socio-economic development of the country."

"The folk festival Harela, a symbol of our faith, gratitude, and commitment to preserving nature, will be celebrated with great joy tomorrow. On this occasion, a resolution has been made to plant over 5 lakh saplings, marking a new milestone in the connection between this folk tradition of Uttarakhand and a new initiative," he stated in a previous post.

Marking four years in office, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami highlights Uttarakhand&rsquo;s sporting success with 103 medals and seamless hosting of the 38th National Games 2025&mdash;all events held within the state.

Marking four years of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday highlighted the state&rsquo;s significant achievements in the field of sports.&nbsp;
He pointed to the successful hosting of the 38th National Games earlier this year as a milestone in Uttarakhand&rsquo;s sporting journey.
The state hosted the prestigious tournament in February, with all competitions held within Uttarakhand itself&mdash;a first for the event. Athletes from the state delivered a standout performance, winning 103 medals, including 24 gold, 22 silver, and 26 bronze, to secure an impressive seventh place in the overall rankings.
&ldquo;We organised the national games. Devbhoomi is moving towards the sports ground. By winning one hundred and three medals, our sportsmen have established a record in the thirty-eighth national games. The event, which was organised in the state, was the first time that there was no need to go outside the state for any competition, and we did not organise any competition in the hanger. All our structures were permanent structures. We organised the competitions in those structures,&rdquo; CM Dhami told ANI, praising the athletes and organisers.
The 38th edition of the National Games saw participation from over 16,000 athletes across 35 sporting disciplines. A total of 1,490 medals were awarded&mdash;448 gold, 448 silver, and 594 bronze. Several national records were broken, and many young talents emerged as promising contenders for international championships.
The Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) topped the medal tally with 121 medals, including 68 gold, 26 silver, and 27 bronze, claiming the championship title at the 2025 National Games.
Beyond the sporting contests, the event celebrated India&rsquo;s cultural diversity. Cultural performances reflecting the heritage of various states were held throughout the games, enriching the experience for participants and spectators alike. Local volunteers and sports coordinators played a crucial role in facilitating a smooth experience for all teams, from accommodation to logistics.
Venues like the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Dehradun and others were upgraded with state-of-the-art infrastructure to ensure top-tier competition conditions. According to a government press release, special focus was also placed on the nutritional needs of athletes, offering diverse, healthy meals to suit various regional preferences.
Uttarakhand&rsquo;s successful execution of the National Games 2025 has not only set a benchmark in sporting infrastructure and planning but also reinforced the state&rsquo;s emerging role as a key player in India&rsquo;s sports ecosystem.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, who completed four years in office on Thursday, said when he was appointed to the top office for the first time in 2021, he had no idea an ordinary worker like him would be entrusted with such a responsibility.
Dhami, who is the second chief minister after Narayan Dutt Tiwari in the state's 25-year history to complete four years in office, cited the introduction of the Uniform Civil Code, crackdown against the dominance of the paper-leak mafia in recruitment examinations, and the action against land encroachment and forced conversions as the most remarkable achievements of his ongoing tenure.&nbsp;
"I did not know an ordinary worker like me would be entrusted with a responsibility like this. My path was fraught with challenges. Elections were near. The Covid pandemic was at its peak. The Chardham Yatra and people in the tourism business had been hit hard. Bringing them back on track was a huge challenge," Dhami said in an interview to PTI Videos.
"We announced a package to resuscitate them. We made more than 700 announcements in six months. We hiked the amount of old age pension and the salary of anganwadi workers. We also gave a push to innovation by launching the apple and kiwi missions," he said.
Holding out introduction of the UCC as one of the biggest achievements of his tenure, Dhami said the BJP went to the people (in 2022 assembly polls) with the promise of bringing it if re-elected to power.
"UCC had always been part of our manifesto in successive elections. We had the fortune of becoming the first state in the country after Independence to introduce the law with the inspiration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the constant guidance of Home Minister Amit Shah," he said.
Countering the opposition charge that it was meant to target a community, Dhami said it is meant for the security of people across all religions and faiths.
Citing the 2022 gruesome murder of Shraddha Walkar by her live-in partner in Delhi, he said the provision for mandatory registration of live-in relationships in the UCC provides a cushion against such ugly eventualities.
The chief minister said his government took effective action against the paper leak mafia by introducing the country's toughest anti-copying law and putting more than 100 people involved in such scams behind bars.
Ever since the law was introduced in Uttarakhand, 24,000 deserving and meritorious candidates from poor family backgrounds have got government jobs in a fair and transparent manner, he said.
"It has boosted the morale of really deserving and meritorious students," he said. Dhami said his government is against "love-jihad, land jihad and spit jihad".
"Encroachment should not be allowed at any cost. Action against encroachment in the state has led to removal of encroachments from 6500 acres of government land," he said, adding that it was not meant against any community in particular.
The chief minister also spoke of 30 per cent reservation to domicile women of Uttarakhand in government jobs and 10 per cent horizontal reservation to statehood agitationists as major achievements of his government.
He said Rs 1,700 crore has been sanctioned by the Centre for the rebuilding of subsidence-hit Jyotirmath and thanked Prime Minister Modi for his constant guidance for the successful rescue of workers trapped in the Silkyara tunnel in Uttarkashi.&nbsp;

Droupadi Murmu, who took oath as the 15th President of India on 25 July 2022, has dedicated her life to the upliftment of the underprivileged and strengthening of democratic principles, as stated on the official website of the President of India.
Born on 20 June 1958 in Uparbeda village of Mayurbhanj district, Odisha, Murmu hails from a Santhali tribal family. Her early years were marked by struggle and determination. After completing her primary education in her village, she independently moved to Bhubaneswar to pursue higher studies. She became the first woman from her village to graduate from college, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ramadevi Women&rsquo;s College.
Murmu began her professional journey as a Junior Assistant in Odisha&rsquo;s Irrigation and Power Department from 1979 to 1983. She later served as an honorary teacher at Sri Aurobindo Integral Education Centre in Rairangpur between 1994 and 1997.
Her political career began in 2000 when she was elected to the Odisha Legislative Assembly from Rairangpur. Serving until 2009, she held key ministerial positions including Minister of State (Independent Charge) for the Departments of Commerce and Transport, and later Fisheries and Animal Resources Development. In these roles, she introduced several progressive and people-centric initiatives.
Murmu also contributed significantly through her work on various House and Standing Committees in the Odisha Assembly and was recognised for her legislative service with the Pandit Nilkanth Das - Best Legislator Award in 2007.
In 2015, she was appointed as the Governor of Jharkhand, becoming the first tribal woman to hold the post in a tribal-majority state. Her tenure was marked by efforts to uphold constitutional values and protect tribal rights. She earned widespread respect for bringing in reforms, especially in the examination and recruitment systems of state universities, and was praised across political lines for her integrity and leadership.

Speaking after the session, CM Dhami said, "Under the leadership of PM Modi, Yoga has become popular worldwide. Ahead of 21 June, the International Day of Yoga, we organised an event to spread awareness about Yoga today. I appeal to the public to adopt Yoga to stay healthy."
The Chief Minister, who practiced yoga at his residence complex along with officials and employees of the Chief Minister's Office, emphasised Uttarakhand&rsquo;s identity as a land of sages and yoga. He stated that the state government has made consistent efforts to connect people with yoga at the village level.
Calling yoga a path to mental clarity and inner peace, Dhami said, &ldquo;Yoga is not just a physical exercise but a process of inner peace and self-realisation. It is a medium to stabilise our mind and reach the depths of consciousness.&rdquo; He further added, &ldquo;India has always kept human values paramount, and the basic pillar of our Sanatan culture is yoga. This is the reason that today yoga has become an integral part of the daily routine of crores of people of the world and is establishing the Indian lifestyle on the global stage.&rdquo;
Recalling the milestone moment when yoga gained international recognition, the CM noted, &ldquo;In 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had proposed in the United Nations General Assembly to recognize Yoga as an international day, which was supported by 177 countries, and June 21 was declared International Yoga Day.&rdquo;
He also said that a new yoga policy is being introduced to position Uttarakhand as a global centre for yoga and wellness, while creating employment opportunities in the sector.
Meanwhile, Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh is preparing to host one of the largest yoga events in history, which will see the participation of over 2.5 lakh people and an appearance by Prime Minister Modi. The event will take place along the 27-km-long coastal road, and is being organised with the goal of setting a new world record for mass yoga participation.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is also expected to take part in the event. A high-level review meeting was conducted at the VMRDA office in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday to finalise preparations. The meeting was attended by Ministers Vangalapudi Anitha, Achennaidu, DBV Swamy, BC Janardhan Reddy, Angani Satya Prasad, MP Bharat, coalition MLAs from Uttarandhra, and several other public representatives.
Following the meeting, Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha addressed the media and shared details of the large-scale arrangements. &ldquo;The people of Visakhapatnam are fortunate to organise the 11th International Yoga Day in Visakhapatnam,&rdquo; she said. &ldquo;Yoga is a gift from India to the world. Yoga is a part of life. We are moving Andhra Pradesh towards a healthy Andhra Pradesh.&rdquo;
Authorities have reportedly prepared 326 compartments to accommodate participants, and over 2,000 CCTV cameras have been installed across the venue to monitor and manage the crowd effectively.
The event in Visakhapatnam is expected to be one of the largest ever celebrations of International Yoga Day, reinforcing India&rsquo;s soft power and cultural influence across the globe.

The meeting comes as Suniel Shetty continues to take on meaningful roles in films rooted in Indian history and heritage. He was recently seen in Kesari Veer, a historical drama also featuring Sooraj Pancholi and Vivek Oberoi. The film was directed by Prince Dhiman and produced by Kanu Chauhan.
According to the makers, Kesari Veer tells &ldquo;the inspiring tale of unsung warriors who fought and sacrificed their lives to protect the Somnath Temple from invaders in the 14th century AD.&rdquo;
Producer Kanu Chauhan described the project as a passion-driven effort, motivated by a personal connection to the story. Director Prince Dhiman added that the emotional weight of the tale compelled him to conduct extensive research to ensure historical authenticity.
Suniel Shetty has an exciting lineup of upcoming projects, including The Legend of Somnath, Welcome to the Jungle, a series titled Nanda Devi with Lionsgate, and Hunter 3.

In a post on X, he wrote, "The way India has strengthened, made its defence capabilities self-reliant and modern in the last 11 years under the leadership of the honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji is no less than a revolution. This is not just a count of years, it is the story of an era where decisive policies were made and implemented considering the security of the nation as paramount. The government's zero tolerance policy against terrorism and Naxalism forced the forces that had been challenging the internal peace of the country for decades to retreat."
He further referenced India's assertive approach to terrorism, citing the example of Operation Sindoor. "Bold operations like Operation Sindoor reflected India's new military policy at the global level, where a befitting reply was given by entering the homes of those who promote terror," he wrote.
CM Dhami also hailed the success of the &lsquo;Make in India&rsquo; campaign in defence, saying it has transformed India from a buyer to a seller in the global arms market. "The power of 'Make in India' in the defence sector has transformed India from an importer to an exporter. This new defence ecosystem created under the leadership of the Honourable Prime Minister is not just a vision of a safe India, but it is a solid foundation of a self-reliant and capable India," he posted.
Highlighting India&rsquo;s progress, he mentioned that the country&rsquo;s defence exports rose from ₹1,940 crore in 2014&ndash;15 to ₹23,622 crore in 2024&ndash;25. He also applauded the launch of INS Vikrant, India&rsquo;s first indigenously built aircraft carrier, noting that its flight deck spans the size of two football fields.
Later, during a general assembly and management executive committee meeting of the Uttarakhand Bhasha Sansthan held at the secretariat, CM Dhami reiterated his gratitude towards PM Modi and listed the Centre&rsquo;s key accomplishments. "Today, under the leadership of respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi, 11 years of service, good governance and poor welfare are going to be completed. On behalf of Uttarakhand, I thank the Prime Minister for establishing a strong, capable and safe nation," he said.
He pointed out the impact of the government&rsquo;s welfare schemes and claimed a sharp decline in poverty. "The poverty rate has decreased by more than five times and 27 crore people have come out of the poverty line in 11 years," Dhami stated.
CM Dhami concluded by highlighting flagship central schemes such as the Jan Dhan Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, Ayushman Bharat Yojana, PM Awas Yojana, and Jal Jeevan Mission, crediting them for transforming lives across the country.

Sharing pictures from the muhurat ceremony, the Chief Minister praised Uttarakhand&rsquo;s growing prominence in the film industry due to its supportive policies. &ldquo;Clapped the Muhurat shot of the film 'Gaudan ki Pukar' in Dehradun. On this occasion, various artists including Mr. @actormanojjoshi ji and Upasana Singh ji met me,&rdquo; Dhami wrote on social media.
He further noted, &ldquo;The new film policy of the state has made Uttarakhand an attractive destination for filmmaking. Currently, more than 200 film shootings are underway in the state. This has not only taken tourism to new heights, but is also creating employment opportunities for local youth.&rdquo;
The upcoming film is expected to feature actors Manoj Joshi and Upasana Singh in lead roles, although specific plot details have yet to be revealed by the makers.
