Uttarakhand CM Dhami meets actor Suniel Shetty in Dehradun, discusses state's film policy

Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty met Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami in Dehradun on Tuesday.

The meeting focused on the state’s film policy and possibilities for future collaborations in the entertainment sector.

Taking to Instagram, Chief Minister Dhami shared photos from the meeting and noted that the discussion revolved around promoting filmmaking in Uttarakhand.

“Met Bollywood actor Mr. @suniel.shetty in Dehradun. On this occasion, there was discussion with him regarding the film policy of the state,” Dhami wrote in his caption.

The pictures show both Dhami and Shetty warmly greeting each other and engaging in a conversation about the state’s cinematic initiatives.

The meeting comes as Suniel Shetty continues to take on meaningful roles in films rooted in Indian history and heritage. He was recently seen in Kesari Veer, a historical drama also featuring Sooraj Pancholi and Vivek Oberoi. The film was directed by Prince Dhiman and produced by Kanu Chauhan.

According to the makers, Kesari Veer tells “the inspiring tale of unsung warriors who fought and sacrificed their lives to protect the Somnath Temple from invaders in the 14th century AD.”

Producer Kanu Chauhan described the project as a passion-driven effort, motivated by a personal connection to the story. Director Prince Dhiman added that the emotional weight of the tale compelled him to conduct extensive research to ensure historical authenticity.

Suniel Shetty has an exciting lineup of upcoming projects, including The Legend of Somnath, Welcome to the Jungle, a series titled Nanda Devi with Lionsgate, and Hunter 3.
