Siraj grabbed three wickets on the dramatic final morning of the fifth match to finish with nine wickets in the match as the Indian team drew the series 2-2.
"It is a special honour to be named ICC Player of the Month. The Anderson&ndash;Tendulkar Trophy was a memorable series, and it was one of the most intense contests I have been part of.
"I am proud that I could contribute with some important spells, especially in the decisive moments. Bowling against a top batting line-up in their home conditions was challenging, but it also brought out the best in me," said Siraj.
Ireland all-rounder Prendergast won the award ahead of Pakistan's wicketkeeper-batter Muneeba Ali and the Netherlands&rsquo; seam bowler Iris Zwilling.
Prendergast was named the Player of the Series in a home T20I series, helping win 2-1 against Pakistan. She scored 144 runs and took four wickets in that series and maintained her fine form in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier, aggregating 244 runs and finishing with seven wickets in the month of August.

Getting somebody like Steve Smith out when he was on 55... so this is the real strength of Mohammed Siraj, the self-belief and the never-say-die attitude on the field." Chasing a modest 148, Faf du Plessis (64) and Virat Kohli (42) put on 92 runs inside the powerplay to give RCB a blistering start.
RCB, however, slipped from 92/0 to 117/6 before romping home in 13.4 overs.
"Extraordinary stuff during the power play when RCB was batting. It was just game on, and then all of a sudden things changed. Were they trying to counter the net run rate solution? And if that is the case, then well played to them because they needed to go hard," former Australian batter Matthew Hayden said.
"So they lost those three wickets to Joshua Little straight away in that middle stage of the match. And then they were able to consolidate because, simply as you heard Faf at the presentation say, anything short of 180, even 190 on this high-scoring venue, was never going to be enough runs." Former England cricketer and coach Paul Collingwood also lauded the "aggressive approach" of the RCB batters.
&ldquo;The intensity displayed by RCB with the ball was commendable. Even while chasing a modest total, seeing Virat Kohli stepping out of his crease and effortlessly flicking a delivery for six on just the second ball indicated their aggressive intent. This signals danger for their opponents.
"Despite their position near the bottom of the table, RCB didn't hold back. They showed clarity, bravery, and aggression, particularly in the middle order. Although they lost wickets, I commend their aggressive approach," he said.&nbsp;

"Ben Duckett's partnership was growing with Root, if he had played a little more, then it would have been difficult for us. But suddenly he played that shot which didn't look (like one) to be played," Siraj said during the media interaction after the day's play.
"But it turned out good for us and after that (Ben) Foakes and Ben Stokes had a good partnership, and then Stokes played a shot (which got him out) and we got into the game from there," he added.
Siraj praised young India opener Jaiswal for his rapid 104-run knock.
"The way he is batting, his confidence is very high. He is not looking behind and is totally focussed on what lies ahead and he is carrying on with that confidence. The message from the team is that he should continue the way he has been doing.
"We only think of taking the game as forward as possible so that we (bowlers) should also recover because we are bowling long spells and fielding. The more we are able to recover the fresher we will be for the second innings," Siraj said. The fast bowler said the Indian bowlers will have to keep targeting the stumps in the fourth innings, as straying from bowling plans would only invite trouble.
"I reckon the ball will keep a little low on the fourth day but cannot say anything accurately for this wicket. Whatever I have assessed of this wicket, the more you are able to bowl at the stumps, you are more likely to get success. If you bowl wide, you may leak runs," he added.
The pitch here at the Niranjan Shah Stadium has not developed enough cracks yet for the spinners to have a bigger say but Siraj said they will have an impact.
"Spinners will obviously be effective in the fourth innings because the ball is turning. Not all six delivers (in an over) are turning but one odd one is. You can get wickets if you bowl with patience at one spot.
"Today we did not try anything apart from bowling at the stumps. Had we tried more, maybe we would not have got the wickets," Siraj said.
Siraj, who executed his yorkers perfectly to take 4/84 in England&rsquo;s first innings, said playing mind games becomes crucial on such wickets.
"It is a flat and slow wicket and we have to make a plan. You should put it down in the batsman's mind that he (the bowler) is bowling the bouncer or the slower one to keep him confused. I planned the yorker and executed it well and got the wicket and the momentum shifted." The India pacer said the absence of off-spinner R Ashwin, who withdrew from the Test owing to a medical emergency in family, meant the other bowlers had to bowl longer spells.
"In the morning when we got to know that Ash bhai is not there, more responsibility fell on us. Rohit bhai told us that we would have to bowl long spells, and I love bowling long spells," he said.
"For a fast bowler in Test cricket, one cannot set up a batsman in three-four overs. We got success due to long spells. Ash bhai was our fifth bowler and I only wish that his mother gets well soon. If you bowl long spells you should not try much but be consistent with it (line and lengths).
"They (England batters) are not used to defending all six balls in an over, if they have defended on two, they are going to attack the third," Siraj said.

Did he think he will come out to bowl twice in a day? &ldquo;Did you think so?&rdquo; he chuckled with a counter question.
&ldquo;We didn&rsquo;t think also. We had put our feet up but this is cricket. You see both good and bad things,&rdquo; he added philosophically.
But he was visibly happy after having one of his best days in his 23 Test career.
&ldquo;You want the New Year to go well,&rdquo; the affable Hyderabadi said with satisfaction written all over his face.
&ldquo;I realised what I missed in the last game and wanted to compensate and I executed my plans accordingly. I wanted to hit one area consistently and I did that and got reward for it. Wicket looks quite similar to Centurion,&rdquo; Siraj said at the end of the day&rsquo;s play.
So what did he do different that he didn&rsquo;t in the last game? &ldquo;We (him and Jasprit Bumrah) bowled in partnerships and bowled many maidens unlike last Test match. Bowling so many maidens did create pressure.&rdquo; When one gets a track as spicy as Newlands, a fast bowler&rsquo;s excited mind can get cluttered and that&rsquo;s what one needs to control, feels Siraj.
&ldquo;On these wickets, where ball is doing so much, often bowlers tend to think, &lsquo;let me try and bowl an outswinger darting from leg to off or get one to bend back from angle but one should just stick to one line.
"If you hit areas, wickets will come automatically, if you try many things, you yourself can get confused,&rdquo; he observed.
He thanked Jasprit Bumrah and KL Rahul for constant communication.
&ldquo;When senior bowler is operating and there is wicketkeeper who advises you on what is the correct length, job becomes easier as there is lot of communication. When you are hit for 4-5 boundaries, you know what length to switch to.&rdquo; So what&rsquo;s an ideal score that can be chased? &ldquo;I can't predict what will happen on second day. We have to get them out for as less as possible and we don&rsquo;t need to think too far as we are still 40 runs ahead and we have to see how many we can get before they take lead,&rdquo; he signed off.

'I was really flustered. Despite working so hard in life I was still not doing well,' he added.
The fast bowler then revealed that he almost quit cricket back then.
'During the lockdown due to Covid-19, I realised I&rsquo;ll dedicate one year to cricket. If I play well, I&rsquo;ll continue. Else I&rsquo;ll quit cricket and take up some other job,' Siraj said.
He further revealed that in the 1 year he gave himself, Siraj worked a lot on his fitness and practised bowling daily.
'When I resumed playing, I felt a remarkable difference,' concluded Siraj, who is now not just RCB's but one of Team India's bowling pillars in all 3 departments of the game.
