The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President, Jay Shah, also acknowledged the invaluable contribution of the groundsmen and curators by announcing a significant cash prize of $50,000, acknowledging them as the 'unsung heroes of cricket.'

Despite relentless weather challenges during the tournament, marked by multiple rain delays, the diligent efforts of the groundsmen and curators in Colombo and Kandy ensured that most matches proceeded as scheduled. Their unwavering dedication played a pivotal role in the successful continuation of the Asia Cup tournament, defying the adversities posed by the weather.

Notably, the groundsmen faced a formidable task during the Super 4 match between India and Pakistan, contending with persistent rain on both the originally scheduled and reserve days. Despite these daunting challenges, their tireless endeavours ensured the match proceeded, culminating in a victory for India against their arch-rivals.
