Ahead of the highly anticipated India vs England Test series, Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj has cast doubts on the effectiveness of England's aggressive 'Bazball' strategy in the subcontinent's demanding conditions. The term 'Bazball,' inspired by England's Test team head coach Brendon McCullum's nickname, symbolizes a bold batting tactic that has propelled England to significant victories in the past year. However, Siraj anticipates a challenging adaptation for the visitors on Indian pitches known for their turn and unpredictability.

Speaking to 'Jio Cinema' on the eve of the first Test in Hyderabad, Siraj remarked, "If England play Bazball in Indian conditions, the match might get over within a day-and-a-half or two. It’s not easy to hit every time here as the ball turns sometimes and straightens on other occasions." He further added, "So, I think it'll be difficult to see Bazball here. But if they play it, it’ll be good for us as the match may get over quickly."

Reflecting on his preparation and experience from England's last tour in 2021, where matches concluded swiftly, Siraj shared his strategic focus on run control and patience, irrespective of his wicket tally. His goal remains to exert pressure on the batters, drawing from his successful spells against key players like Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow.

Siraj, who has captured 68 wickets in 23 Tests since debuting in Australia three years ago, also shared insights into his bowling philosophy. Emphasizing the importance of consistency, Siraj maintains a disciplined approach to his line and length across formats, aiming to exploit the new ball's potential for taking wickets. His method involves slight adjustments based on the ball's behaviour, striving for a constant precision that has been instrumental in his career success.
