In the recent past, there has been a sudden surge in the cases of heart attacks and strokes among healthy, young and middle-aged Indians which has become a major concern.&nbsp;
Recently, a survey by LocalCircles found that the percentage of sudden ailments or complications rose from 31% to 51% within a year.&nbsp;
The study also found that 61% of the people in their close network experiencing severe medical conditions have been affected by the coronavirus once or more than that while 28% said that their contacts who suffered a stroke or heart attack did not have Covid.&nbsp;
The survey received 32,000 responses from people located in 357 districts of India.&nbsp;

Narayana Health in Bengaluru stated that stroke has been seen as a manifestation of Covid-19 in various studies showing that 0.9% to 23% of Covid-19 patients developed stroke.

NFL star Damar Hamlin was admitted to hospital after collapsing due to a cardiac arrest during a televised American football match.
Buffalo Bills' Hamlin fell to the ground after a collision with an opponent from the Cincinnati Bengals. He was treated for more than 30 minutes on-field where his heartbeat was restored. He was then taken to the hospital for further treatment.
While wishes of support poured in, the game was suspended an hour after the frightening incident.

Dr Sudhir Kumar said that sudden immersion in cold water can cause myocardial infarction. The rate of occurrence of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (AF) varies by season and is greatest during winter and least in summer. And, AF is a common risk factor for stroke, especially in older people and people with high blood pressure.&nbsp;
Moreover, he said that alternating between a hot sauna bath and a cold water bath can also lead to a heart attack. However, these are rare events and further studies are required for confirmation.&nbsp;

The police pressed murder charges against Phogat's two associates after a post-mortem report mentioned that there were "multiple blunt force injuries" on her body. 
Her brother Rinku Dhaka had filed a complaint against the two men at Anjuna Police Station on Wednesday.
The report stated  that there are multiple blunt force injuries over the body, which makes the manner of death, a matter for  the investigating officer to ascertain.
The autopsy was earlier scheduled on Wednesday, but Phogat's brother claimed she was murdered by two of her associates and the family would agree to autopsy only after an FIR was registered against them.
Phogat, who hailed from Hisar in Haryana and found fame on TikTok, was brought dead to the St Anthony Hospital in Anjuna in North Goa district on August 23 morning. The cause was given as a suspected heart attack.

Yesterday, his family released an official statement on his Instagram account and sought blessings for the comedian. The family's statement read, ‘Raju Srivastava Ji’s condition is stable. We are praying for his speedy recovery. The doctors are treating him and are doing their best. Thanks to all the well-wishers for all their continued love and support. The undefeated German boxing champion, Musa Askan Yamak has died from a heart attack during a bout against Uganda boxer Hamza Wandera on Sunday in Munich.
Yamak was hit by a heavy blow from his opponent in the second round but he continued to fight. The tragic incident took place during the third round when he collapsed suddenly. The medical team rushed to the ring to save him but couldn't help the boxer and he died aged just 38.

Turkish-born Yamak turned professional in 2017 and gained fame after winning the WBFed International title in 2021.

Scientists at University of Edinburgh in UK have concluded that daily use of paracetamol raises blood pressure and increases the risk of heart attacks and strokes.
The researchers have asked the doctors to be careful before prescribing paracetamol to people at risk of heart attacks and strokes.
The first-of-its-kind trial found that just four days of taking paracetamol causes a clinically significant hike in blood pressure, The Telegraph UK has reported.
The researchers have calculated that regular paracetamol use — about 4g a day, or eight standard tablets — could increase the risk of heart disease or stroke by around 20 per cent.
Experts conducted the study on 110 patients with a history of high blood pressure and placed them on, "one gram of paracetamol four times a day or a placebo for two weeks, before reversing the regime so the placebo group got paracetamol," The Telegraph UK reported.
The study raises alarm as paracetamol was considered a safe altrnative to drugs such as ibuprofen, which are known to raise blood pressure.
