Survey finds the reason behind sudden surge in heart attacks among young Indians

In the recent past, there has been a sudden surge in the cases of heart attacks and strokes among healthy, young and middle-aged Indians which has become a major concern.

Recently, a survey by LocalCircles found that the percentage of sudden ailments or complications rose from 31% to 51% within a year.

The study also found that 61% of the people in their close network experiencing severe medical conditions have been affected by the coronavirus once or more than that while 28% said that their contacts who suffered a stroke or heart attack did not have Covid.

The survey received 32,000 responses from people located in 357 districts of India.

Is stroke a manifestation of coronavirus?

Narayana Health in Bengaluru stated that stroke has been seen as a manifestation of Covid-19 in various studies showing that 0.9% to 23% of Covid-19 patients developed stroke.
