South Korean girl group BLACKPINK has added yet another achievement to their impressive resume. &nbsp;Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa and Rose's inaugural studio album, The Album, has clinched the prestigious gold BRIT certification in the United Kingdom, the British Phonographic Industry confirmed. &nbsp;For the uninitiated, the BPI's certification criteria require an album to sell 100,000 units to attain the prestigious gold status.&nbsp;

BLACKPINK has achieved an exciting honour in the United Kingdom. &nbsp;The British Phonographic Industry (BPI) has honoured the girl group's inaugural album, &nbsp;The Album, with an official gold BRIT certification. The latest feat. holds a special significance for BLACKPINK as it's the first time a girl group earned this certification in the UK.&nbsp;
According to the BPI's certification requirements, albums earn gold status after selling 100,000 units, whereas singles must sell 400,000 units to be certified gold. BLACKPINK has become the first female K-pop artist to get an album-certified gold in the United Kingdom.
