The Witcher 4 is in development, CD Projekt Red confirms

CD Projekt Red, developers of the Witcher series, have confirmed that a new Witcher game is in development. Not much has been revealed about this upcoming game, but the announcement confirms that this game "will be kicking off a new saga for the franchise, and a new technology partnership with Epic Games."

The statement seems to indicate that this will be a new beginning for the Witcher series, and is unlikely to focus on known characters like Geralt, Ciri, and Yennifer, although they may still appear.

The new Witcher game will be built on Epic Games' Unreal Engine 5, unlike the proprietary technology that CD Projekt Red has used in earlier games.
