Sennheiser has introduced the Momentum Sport earbuds, designed for athletes and fitness enthusiasts. These new fitness earbuds feature advanced tracking capabilities, providing insights into heart rate and body temperature. Sennheiser's Momentum Sport earbuds incorporate state-of-the-art in-ear sensors to capture heart rate and body temperature data. According to Vijay Sharma, General Manager of Sennheiser Consumer Business in India, these earbuds transform from a basic exercise accessory to an essential part of a workout. The in-ear heart rate sensor and in-ear body temperature sensor provide real-time biometric feedback, allowing users to optimize their training and monitor progress.

Momentum Sport earbuds: Features

The Momentum Sport earbuds integrate a photoplethysmography (PPG) heart rate sensor and a body temperature sensor. These sensors deliver critical data to popular fitness apps and devices. The inner ear's stable environment during physical activity ensures consistent performance tracking data. Temperature readings from the ear are more accurate than wrist measurements, helping users avoid heat-related fatigue by monitoring body temperature within +/- 0.3 degrees Celsius accuracy. The heart rate sensor detects beats-per-minute ranging from 30 to 220 bpm.

These heart rate tracking earbuds also feature three-axis accelerometers, capacitive touch sensors, and infrared sensors for managing audio playback and call functions.

The earbuds support fitness app integrations such as Polar Flow, Apple Health, Garmin Connect, and Strava. For the first time, a non-Polar product allows full access to Polar's biosensing capabilities through the Polar Flow app. This integration includes performance tracking, training analytics, smart coaching, and voice guidance.

Sennheiser's acoustics expertise includes the mitigation of the acoustic occlusion effect through an acoustic relief channel. This minimizes noise from footsteps, breathing, and other body-borne distractions. The semi-open design provides natural environmental awareness, with selectable Transparency mode, Anti-wind mode, and Adaptive Noise Cancelling mode. The earbuds operate over Bluetooth 5.2, supporting aptX Adaptive, AAC, and SBC codecs.

The earbuds' IP55 sweat and water resistance, shock-proof chassis, and clog-resistant ear tips ensure durability during intense workouts. A selection of interchangeable ear fins and ear tips provides a personalized fit. The carrying case, rated IP54, extends playback time from up to 6 hours to 24 total hours without recharging.

Sennheiser's sports headphones cater to athletes' needs, offering high-quality sound and comprehensive fitness tracking. The earbuds' quick charging feature provides up to 1 hour of playback after just 10 minutes of charging, making them suitable for users on the go.

The Sennheiser Momentum Sport earbuds are priced at INR 27,990. They come in three colorways: Polar Black, Burned Olive, and Metallic Graphite.

The Momentum Sport earbuds will be available from 15th July, 12 PM onwards. Customers can purchase them through the Sennheiser webshop, Amazon.in, and Flipkart. The earbuds come with a 2-year warranty. Pre-order customers will receive additional benefits, including enhanced training features through the Polar Flow app and compatibility with the Polar Vantage V3 multisport watch.
