Here, we dive into our first impressions of the Galaxy M55 5G, sharing insights into what users can expect right out of the box and from the initial use.

Samsung Galaxy M55 5G Unboxing

Upon unboxing the Samsung Galaxy M55 5G, the absence of the officially recommended 45W super-fast charger is immediately noticeable. Samsung mentions that the charger is being sold separately but this might prove to be inconvenient to some users.

Moving on, the box includes the smartphone itself, a Type C USB cable for charging and data transfer, a SIM ejector tool, a regional lock guide, and a Quick Smart Guide.

Our unit, in Light Green, looks vibrant yet sophisticated, with the camera module neatly placed in the top left corner, contributing to its modern aesthetic.

The phone looks premium in hand, balancing its visual appeal with design for comfortable, prolonged use. The lightweight feel of the phone, contributing immensely to its ease of handling is one of the top highlights of the Galaxy M55 5G, when it comes to first impressions.

Samsung Galaxy M55 5G Specifications

At its core, the Galaxy M55 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor, which Samsung touts for its "blistering speeds." While the SoC used is not the latest in the market, Samsung's shift from Exynos SoCs to Snapdragon reflects its focus on gaming with the Galaxy M55.

This is the first Samsung M series phone to feature 12GB of RAM. It's paired with 256 GB of storage, and Samsung claims the phone is built to handle powerful gaming, multitasking, and seamless video streaming. Our initial tests show that the device lives up to these claims when it comes to streaming audio-visual content, providing a smooth and responsive user experience.

Samsung Galaxy M55 5G Camera Capabilities

The photography and videography aspects of the Galaxy M55 5G features a 50MP OIS wide, an 8MP ultra-wide, a 2MP macro, along with a 50MP selfie camera. Features like dual recording add to its appeal allowing users to capture moments in versatile and creative ways.

Early shots indicate that the cameras perform adequately well, with the OIS contributing to clear, stable images. We intend to explore the camera capabilities further to come to a more definite conclusion, which will be further delved into in our upcoming review.

Running on Android 14 with One UI version 6.1, the Galaxy M55 5G delivers a refined and user-friendly interface. The Samsung Galaxy M55 5G is protected by Knox security, Version 3.10, ensuring the privacy of your data.

The Samsung Galaxy M55 5G presents a compelling package for those in the market for a mid-range smartphone. While the absence of a charger in the box may be a point of contention for some, the overall value and capabilities of the device make it a decent option when it comes to the latest mid-range smartphones.
