iOS 18 Launches Tonight: Don’t Install Before Doing This!

Apple has officially announced the rollout of iOS 18, bringing enhanced customization and features. The update allows users to rearrange apps and widgets freely, with additional improvements like a redesigned Control Center and new password management tools.

The iOS 18 update will be pre-installed on the new iPhone 16 series and will roll out to eligible devices. Below is a detailed breakdown of the launch, what to do before installing, and what new features come with the update.

iOS 18 Launch Time in India

Apple hasn’t specified the exact iOS 18 launch time, but past trends suggest it will start rolling out around 10:30 PM IST. Users with eligible devices can expect to receive the update on the same day, with the iPhone 16 series pre-loaded with iOS 18.

What should you do before installing iOS 18?

Before installing iOS 18, Apple recommends freeing up storage space by deleting unused apps. Applications like WhatsApp and Instagram can be temporarily deleted to clear cached files and data.

It’s also important to back up your device using iCloud or local storage to protect your data. Lastly, ensure your iPhone is fully charged and connected to a stable Wi-Fi network before starting the download process.

iOS 18: Key Features

The iOS 18 update brings a host of new features aimed at customisation and enhanced user experience. Apple is introducing Custom Home Screen Layouts, allowing users to arrange app icons and widgets for a tailored look.

A revamped Control Center provides more personalisation, while new accessibility features, like Eye Tracking and Music Haptics, make the iPhone more inclusive.

The Photos App will also see improvements, including an updated interface and a new Clean-Up tool for removing unwanted elements. Meanwhile, Safari and Maps gain enhanced functionality, with a redesigned Reader and offline navigation support.
