Infinix Hot 50 5G Hands-On: Hot or Not? Check price, specs, features & more

The Infinix Hot 50 5G just hit the market, offering a slim design, solid performance, and 5G connectivity—all under ₹10,000. But is it the budget smartphone to beat? Dive into the details with our hands-on review here.

Infinix Hot 50 5G Hands-On: Hot or Not? Check price, specs, features & more

The Infinix Hot 50 5G just dropped, and at first glance, it’s aiming to punch way above its weight class. Priced from ₹8,999 (with a few bank discounts if you're lucky), this entry-level device is making some bold claims. According to Infinix, it’s “the slimmest and most reliable smartphone” in its price range. A pretty confident flex, right?

Slim but Mighty?

Let’s start with that slim design—at just 7.8mm, it’s the skinniest 5G phone in its league. It's the supermodel of budget phones, but does being slim mean it's just all about looks? Well, not quite. It also sports an IP54 rating, meaning it can survive a bit of dust and water splashes—just don’t take it swimming.

The back design is clean, sporting a dual-camera setup housed in a rectangle module, and here’s the twist: the Dreamy Purple variant comes with a vegan leather finish. The rest of the colors (Sleek Black, Vibrant Blue, Sage Green) come with a shiny rear panel, because who doesn’t love a little shimmer?

Display and Performance

At 6.7 inches, the HD+ display is solid for streaming or doom-scrolling, and with a 120Hz refresh rate, it’s a smooth operator. Not the most vivid, but hey, we’re talking budget-friendly here. Inside, it’s powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 5G chipset, which is decent for everyday tasks. Just don’t expect it to handle your BGMI marathons.

Memory-wise, you’ve got two options: 4GB or 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. If you’re a serial app downloader, you might want to spring for the 8GB version—it’ll set you back ₹10,999, but it’s still a steal for a 5G phone.

Battery Life? You’re Covered.

The Infinix Hot 50 5G comes packing a 5,000mAh battery, which should comfortably last you through a full day of use. It even supports 18W fast charging, though at this price, “fast” is a relative term. On the plus side, it has AI charge protection that’ll stop your battery from frying itself overnight.

Camera: Looks Can Be Deceiving

Now, onto the camera—the 48MP dual-rear setup is pretty solid for this price range, though don’t be fooled by the extra lens on the back. One’s there for decoration, but at least the main camera gets the job done. There's also an 8MP front camera, which even has its own LED flash (because apparently, we all need studio lighting for our selfies now). Most of the heavy lifting is done by the main camera it produces decent results. Daytime pictures are better than what you will get in low light.

Verdict: Hot or Not?

Overall, the Infinix Hot 50 5G is a solid contender if you’re shopping in the under ₹10,000 range. It’s got a slim design, a decent processor, and a camera setup that’s more than enough for your Instagram feed. It’s not going to blow your mind, but for the price, it’s a pretty hot deal.

So, is it the slimmest and most reliable? Time will tell. But for now, Infinix has definitely brought some heat to the budget smartphone game.
