Apple has announced the opening of its public beta portal, allowing users to test the upcoming software versions of iOS 17, iPadOS 17, watchOS 10, macOS Sonoma, HomePod Software 17, and tvOS 17.

This move allows consumers to experience the new features and improvements ahead of the stable release expected in September.

The public beta is specifically designed for general enthusiasts and consumers, offering them a slightly more stable version than the developer updates.

iOS 17 Public Beta: Indian Users to Benefit from India-Specific Features

With the upcoming OS versions, Apple is introducing several India-specific features, catering to the needs of Indian users.

The built-in voice assistant Siri now offers a better bilingual experience, allowing users to interact using a mix of English and Indian languages such as Hindi, Punjabi, Kannada, Telugu, and Marathi.

Moreover, Apple is expanding its transliteration keyboard support. While iOS, iPadOS, and macOS already provide transliteration keyboards for Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Bengali, Marathi, and Gujarati, the new versions will include support for Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.

This brings the total number of available languages to 10, boosting accessibility for the Indian market.

Enhanced Dual-SIM Experience and Additional Features

      iOS 17 introduces a much-awaited improvement for dual-SIM users.

They can now sort their messages between primary and secondary SIMs, as well as set separate ringtones for each SIM.

This enhancement ensures a more organised and convenient experience for users with dual-SIM iPhones.

Additionally, iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 bring more notable features, including the ability to sign into Apple ID using a phone number, extended call history function, full-page screenshots, message filtering, and a new built-in Punjabi dictionary.
