CMF Phone (1) specifications leaked: A budget-friendly Nothing Phone (2a) clone?

CMF, a sub-brand of Nothing, is poised to launch the CMF Phone (1) in India, potentially as a more affordable alternative to the Nothing Phone (2a). Recent leaks suggest that the CMF Phone (1) will mirror many of the Phone (2a)'s specifications while offering a simpler design and lower price point.

Design and Color Options

The CMF Phone (1) is expected to have a simple plastic back and will be available in four colours: black, green, blue, and an exclusive orange. This design aims to be affordable while offering a variety of choices for consumers.

Pricing and Launch Date (Expected)

The CMF Phone (1) is rumoured to be priced at Rs. 12,000, making it a competitive option for budget-conscious buyers. It is projected to launch in July, which could make it an appealing choice during the mid-year sales season.

CMF Phone (1) Specifications (Expected)

Sources, including the tipster @realMlgmXyysd on the social platform X, suggest that the CMF Phone (1) will share many hardware specifications with the Nothing Phone (2a). It is expected to feature a 6.67-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, similar to the 6.7-inch AMOLED display of the Phone (2a).

The device is likely to be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC, which suggests it will perform similarly to the Phone (2a). It is expected to offer 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. Additionally, it will have the option to expand memory via a MicroSD card.

The CMF phone (1) is expected to come with a 5,000mAh battery. However, the CMF phone (1) may support slightly slower charging at 33W compared to the 45W charging capability of phone (2a).

The CMF Phone (1) is expected to run on Android 14-based Nothing OS 2.6, similar to the Phone (2a). It will feature additional elements like Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 6. A unique feature is its replaceable plastic back cover. However, it might lack NFC support and Glyph lights, which are available in the Phone (2a).
