Apple iPhone 15 lineup: Dynamic Island on all models, LIPO display technology, and more expected

In the highly anticipated release of Apple's next-generation iPhone 15 lineup, users can expect significant changes and exciting new features.

Recent reports indicate that Apple will abandon its proprietary Lightning port in favour of a universal Type-C port due to new European Union regulations.

This move is expected to extend to the iPhone 15 model in various markets, including India, signalling a positive shift towards uniform charging standards.

Dynamic Island: A Fresh Design for the iPhone 15

Notably, renowned tech analyst Mark Gurman from Bloomberg reveals that the regular iPhone 15 will introduce a new notch design known as the Dynamic Island.

This unique oval-shaped notch, previously featured in the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, creatively hides the selfie camera cutout and Face ID sensors.

The Dynamic Island notch can dynamically adjust its size based on notifications, providing an optimised user experience.

LIPO Technology for Enhanced Display on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone Pro Max

Gurman's latest edition of the Power On newsletter highlights that the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will feature a new notch design manufactured using low-injection pressure over-molding (LIPO) technology.

Initially employed in the Apple Watch Series 7, LIPO technology enables Apple to reduce the device's borders, offering users a larger display area and an almost bezel-less aesthetic.

Repair-Friendly iPhone 15 Pro Series and Enhanced Processing Power

According to the newsletter, the iPhone 15 Pro series will follow in the footsteps of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, offering repair-friendly features.

Additionally, there may be a design refresh with sharper edges, providing a bolder and more modern appearance. It's worth mentioning that Gurman asserts the regular iPhone 15 models will retain the A16 Bionic processor from the previous year.

Meanwhile, the Pro models are anticipated to introduce a snappier 3-nanometer chip, promising improved performance.

Introduction of Programmable "Action Button" and Price Speculations

Not long ago, tech enthusiasts at MacRumors discovered the presence of a programmable "Action Button" on the Pro models. This button will allow users to set up customised shortcuts, offering convenient access to various features such as Assistive Touch or Focus mode, similar to Do Not Disturb.

Considering the impressive upgrades and advanced chipset technology, there are rumours of a potential price hike for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models.

iPhone 15 Pro Price

It is speculated that the iPhone 15 Pro could see a starting price of $1,099, representing a considerable increase compared to the previous year's model.

In India, Apple had already raised the price of the iPhone 14 Pro by $300 compared to the US market, resulting in a price tag of ₹1,29,900 instead of ₹99,900.

With anticipated features such as a universal Type-C port, 48MP main camera, new notch designs, repair-friendly features, and improved chipsets, users can look forward to a better user experience when the devices hit the market in the coming months.
