iPhone 14 might be made in India from day one

Apple's next iPhone 14 will simultaneously ship from facilities in China and India at launch, marking a key milestone in the company's efforts to diversify its supply base outside China.

This is the first time Apple has opted to have iPhones manufactured in China and India simultaneously from the beginning.

Famous Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said in a tweet, "My latest survey indicates Foxconn's iPhone production site in India will ship the new 6.1" iPhone 14 almost simultaneously with China for the first time in 2H22."

Apple is evidently attempting to reduce its reliance on China, as Kuo has predicted. There are several causes for this, one of which is rising tensions between Washington and Beijing.

Apple has been attempting to establish India as its second production base. Apple's ambitions have been delayed by two years as a result of Covid as the virus caused significant chaos in India.

The presence of the Taiwanese contract manufacturer Foxconn in both China and India may have simplified matters for Apple by facilitating the transfer and interchange of technology and staff.

Foxconn has also been increasing its production capacity in India. It just gained authorisation from the government to grow its employees, which will help the firm improve its industrial output.
