Apple, Samsung and Noise lead global smartwatch sales

India became the world's largest smartwatch market in Q3 2022, growing 171 percent YoY.

Apple, Samsung and Noise lead global smartwatch sales

According to Counterpoint Research, Apple’s global smartwatch sales grew 48 percent YoY in Q3 2022 thanks to the strong sales of the Watch Series 8 models.

Apple accounted for about half of the market among premium smartwatches during this period.

Samsung stood second in this category with a global market share of 22.3 percent.

With the release of the new Galaxy Watch 5 series, Samsung's shipments went up by 62 percent from the previous quarter, and its market share went up by 5 percent from the previous quarter.

However, Samsung's shipments only increased by 6 percent YoY as its market share in India fell below 3 percent.

In the budget smartwatch segment, it was India-based company Noise that ruled the market with a share of 25.2 percent. In fact, Noise’s YoY growth was a massive 218 percent.

Noise was placed at the top in India, although the distance between it and Fire-Boltt was less than 1 percent owing to the market's intense rivalry.

Fire-Boltt's share remained unchanged from the previous quarter, however, the company slid to second place in India, behind Noise. But, due to the strong expansion of the Indian market, Fire-Boltt was able to preserve its fourth position on the worldwide market.

Fire-Boltt is primarily active in the Indian market, hence, the growth of the brand indicates the influence the Indian market had during the quarter.

In fact, India became the biggest smartwatch market in the world in the third quarter of 2022, with a 171 percent YoY growth.
