Chess grandmaster Maxim Dlugy admits of cheating many times on Chess.com

His protégé, Hans Niemann was earlier accused of cheating as well by World Champion Magnus Carlsen

The coach of young Chess prodigy Hans Niemann, Maxim Dlugy has admitted to cheating on Chess.com. According to emails reviewed by Motherboard, grandmaster Maxim Dlugy acknowledged he cheated in his own tournaments in 2017 and 2020.

Two days after World Champion, Magnus Carlsen accused his protégé Niemann of cheating in various tournaments, Dlugy has said that it was actually him who had taken part in the malpractice while playing online.

In one email, Dlugy wrote that he was playing in a tournament on Chess.com in front of his students and crowdsourced moves from them, which is against Chess.com’s play rules.

The 56-year-old grandmaster and former junior world champion was banned from the website in 2017 and 2020 for repeatedly cheating in its tournaments
