Ishant Sharma: DC star pacer out injured, needed support to get off the field

Delhi Capitals encountered a significant setback when their leading fast bowler, Ishant Sharma, sustained an injury during the game against Punjab Kings. Sharma, who had showcased exceptional bowling early in the Punjab innings by dismissing PBKS captain Shikhar Dhawan and contributing to Jonny Bairstow's return to the pavilion through skillful fielding, faced an unfortunate turn of events towards the end of the powerplay.

The incident occurred as Ishant moved from his position at mid-on towards his right in an attempt to intercept the ball. In the process, it appeared that he twisted his ankle, leading to immediate discomfort and pain. The situation necessitated the swift intervention of physio Patrick Farhart, who rushed to Ishant's aid as he lay on the ground.

Despite the efforts to address the injury on the field, it became evident that Ishant would not be able to continue playing. Assisted by support on both shoulders, the pacer made his way off the field, visibly hampered by the injury.
