Michael Vaughan, a former captain of England, has questioned the RCB players' refusal to shake hands with MS Dhoni following their victory over CSK in Saturday's high-stakes IPL 2024 match.

CSK needed 17 runs in the last over to secure their spot in the playoffs. But Yash Dayal remained composed and gave up just seven runs, giving RCB a vital win.

Former England captain Michael Vaughan criticised the RCB players for their post-match behaviour towards CSK captain MS Dhoni, despite their remarkable comeback. The joyous RCB players seemed to overlook Dhoni as he waited in line to shake hands with his teammates. As a result, Dhoni did not shake hands with his opponents and left the field.

The RCB players were shamed by Vaughan for their ignorance and warned that if they found out later that this was Dhoni's last IPL match, they would regret their lewd actions.

"If there ever was a time for a group of players to show awareness. We don’t know but if that was MS Dhoni’s last game and those players have run around the ground doing handstands when all they need is to wait and meet the legend. We have to just go and shake his hands and then we can do a few cartwheels and handstands. That’s absolutely fine," the former England captain said on Cricbuzz.

"This is an iconic player. I wouldn’t want to be an RCB player tomorrow morning thinking, Wait a minute, MS Dhoni has announced his retirement and we didn’t have the decency to go and shake his hand first", Michael Vaughan added.
