IPL 2023, RR vs SRH: No-ball ruins Rajasthan's party as Abdul Samad seals incredible last-ball win

Drama, thrill and a last-ball win!

The Hyderabad-Rajasthan clash was the perfect culmination to a super Sunday, replete with last-over thrills. The visitors were cruising at a decent pace with dwindling chances of a victory with each delivery.

Only a miracle could bring Hyderabad back into the game and it surely did. Walking in at number 6, Glenn Phillips came and wreaked havoc in front of a jubilant Jaipur crowd.

The right-handed batter smashed 3 consecutive sixes followed by a four in the 19th over to turn the rhythm of the game in SRH’s favour.

But before Phillips could work his magic further, he was caught out on the very next delivery.

With Phillips gone, SRH was once more in a do-or-die situation and this time it was trusted finisher Abdul Samad who took to the crease.

The last over of the innings was nothing short of drama. RR’s Sandeep Sharma was hit for a six on the second delivery by Samad.

As the match went down to the wire, Sharma bowled the last delivery and RR began celebrating its marginal victory.

But the game was not over yet. The siren sounded, Sharma had bowled a no-ball. Samad took the extra delivery as his golden chance to hit Sharma for a six, sealing SRH’s 4th victory of the season.

Yuzvendra Chahal’s 4-wicket haul for RR went in vain, so did batters Jos Buttler’s 95 and Sanju Samson’s 66*.
