Put in to bat first, Hardik Pandya’s men took LSG bowlers to the cleaners, with openers Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill emerging as top-scorers for the home team.

With a massive 56-run win over Lucknow Super Giants, Gujarat Giants have solidified their place as table-toppers. Put in to bat first, Hardik Pandya’s men took LSG bowlers to the cleaners, with openers Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill emerging as top-scorers for the home team.

Gill’s fiery 94* and Saha’s blistering 81 off 43 were aided by a cameo from in-form David Miller who smashed a quick 25 in just 12 balls.

LSG bowlers managed to scalp just two wickets in 20 overs as the hosts posted a mammoth 228 target for Krunal Pandya & Co.

With the commencement of the second innings, Lucknow took advantage of the powerplay, putting up 64 runs on the board for no loss.

Opening batters Kyle Mayers and Quinton de Kock looked in no mood to slow down as they unleashed their full force on GT’s bowling unit.But slowly, the wickets began to fall.

Kyle Mayers fell prey to pacer Mohit Sharma’s delivery. The first of Sharma’s four wickets in the game.

Despite the loss, Quinton de Kock continued, inching closer to a century. However, it became difficult as wickets kept on tumbling at the other end.

Rashid Khan took the game away from LSG with de Kock's wicket in the 16th over.

The opener's 70 off 41 went in vain as Lucknow succumbed to the gigantic run-chase.
