IPL 2023, RR vs CSK: Rajasthan make it two in two despite Dube’s 3rd consecutive fifty

Chennai Super Kings failed to crack the Royals' code once again as MS Dhoni's men lost the reverse fixture too against Rajasthan, this time by 32 runs in Jaipur.

Chasing a daunting 203-run target, Chennai made a sedate start. Though CSK lost only two wickets in the first 10 overs, they managed to score only 72 runs in it.

With two world-class spinners, R Ashwin and Adam Zampa, bowling in tandem, Chennai were reduced to 73-4 in no time as Ashwin got rid of Ajinkya Rahane and Ambati Rayudu.

Then Moeen Ali and Shivam Dube came together and smashed sixes at will.

Even as the counter-attacking 51-run stand between Dube and Ali raised CSK's hopes, they were always behind the eight ball.

With Moeen going back to the pavilion and the required rate soaring over 16 runs per over, Rajasthan bowlers executed their plans brilliantly.

And finally, CSK only managed to reach 170-6 in 20 overs. With that, Rajasthan also snapped Chennai's three-match unbeaten run.

Earlier, Yashasvi Jaiswal once again displayed his talent with a superb 77 before Dhruv Jurel and Devdutt Padikkal provided the final flourish to take Rajasthan to 202 for five.

Opening the innings, Jaiswal started aggressively, hitting boundaries all around the ground. Royals lost the momentum for a bit after Jaiswal departed for 43-ball 77.

But Padikkal and Jurel added 48 runs towards the fag end of the innings to register the highest total at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in IPL history.
