The chasemaster who came after Rohit lost his wicket to Lockie Ferguson, conquered the game entirely. He played a nearly flawless innings of 95 off 104 balls, anchoring India's chase throughout. Jadeja provided him support from the other end with a crucial 39 not out as India defeated their nemesis New Zealand for the first time in any ICC event after 20 years to go top of the points table.
