Exciting Finals Set for Fenesta Open National Tennis

New Delhi, Oct 3 (PTI) – The Fenesta Open National Tennis Championship is set for an exciting finish as Manish Sureshkumar from Tamil Nadu will face Keerthivassan Suresh in the men's singles final, while Vaishnavi Adkar will take on Akanksha Nitture for the women's title after both pairs emerged victorious in their semifinals. Manish Sureshkumar overcame a shaky start to defeat West Bengal's fourth seed Ishaque Eqbal in an impressive 1-6, 6-1, 6-1 win. Eqbal initially dominated with powerful rallies, breaking Manish's serve twice to claim the first set. However, Manish quickly adapted his strategy, seizing control of the baseline exchanges and breaking Eqbal's momentum early in the second set. With two nearly identical sets of 6-1, Manish secured his place in the final. In a grueling contest, Keerthivassan Suresh won against Madwin Kamath after an exhausting four hours and ten minutes, with scores of 7-6(3), 3-6, 6-4. The first set went to a tiebreaker, where Keerthivassan capitalized on consistent baseline play. Kamath fought back in the second set, but Keerthivassan's crucial break at 4-4 in the deciding set secured his victory. On the women's side, top seed Vaishnavi Adkar from Maharashtra exhibited dominant form by defeating Karnataka's fourth seed Soha Sadiq 6-1, 6-0. Vaishnavi immediately broke Soha's serve and controlled the match with precise baseline shots, wrapping up the match in just one hour. Akanksha Nitture showcased resilience in her comeback victory over Manipur's Jennifer Luikham, winning 3-6, 6-2, 6-1. Despite conceding the first set to Jennifer's aggressive play, Akanksha adjusted her tactics, focusing on powerful serves and deep returns to turn the match around, decisively clinching the remaining sets. In the U-18 category, Karnataka's seventh seed Snigdha Kanta advanced to the girls' singles final with a 7-6, 6-0 win over fellow state player Shreeniti Chowdhury. Meanwhile, Haryana's fourth seed Tavish Pawa defeated Karnataka's fifth seed Gandharv Gourav 6-2, 6-2 in the boys' singles semifinal.

This sets the stage for thrilling finals in both the men's and women's categories, promising exciting displays of skill and determination.
