WTC Final 2023: Virat Kohli can break THESE 3 major records

Run machine Virat Kohli who has made a rollicking return to his form is expected to be one of the strongest pillars of Team India who are competing against Pat Cummins' Australia for the coveted World Test Championship title.

If India win the Test mace, the Men in Blue will be bringing home an ICC title after over a decade. Apart from that, Virat Kohli too has a chance at breaking some of the long standing records.

#1 Surpassing Rahul Dravid

If Virat Kohli manages to score 72 runs in the final Test he will surpass Rahul Dravid who is currently the most succesful overseas batter on English soil with 2646 runs. He is currently placed 3rd behind Sachin Tendulkar who has 2,626 runs.

#2 23-year drought

If Virat Kohli smashes a ton, he can achieve multiple feats and break several records. But most importantly, he will end a 23-year-long drought of an Indian scoring a century in an ICC final. Sourav ganguly was the last palyer to smash a 100 in the final of teh ICC CHmapions Trophy in 2000.

The 100 in WTC final will also be his 76th century and he will become the fastest to achive the feat in fewer innings than Sachin Tendulkar. While Sachin took 587 innings, Virat would be able to do it in 555 innings.

#3 Most runs in ICC knockout matches

Virat Kohli currently has 620 runs from 16 innings across 15 knockout matches. If her scores big he can surpass Ricky Pontings 731 runs and Sachin Tendulkar's 657 runs to become the most succesful batter in ICC torunament knockout matches.
