Women's T20 World Cup: India hoping for a much-improved bowling display against West Indies

After registering a win against arch-rivals Pakistan on Sunday, the Women in Blue will be hoping for an improved bowling display when they face the West Indies in their second T20 World Cup encounter.

The return of their vice-captain and now the most expensive player in WPL auction, Smriti Mandhana, will also come as a big boost. The 26-year-old missed the opening tie due to a finger injury.

In the last match, India completed their biggest chase ever in a T20 World Cup when they chased down 150. In comparison, the Windies are coming off a big defeat against England in their opening clash.

The Indian bowlers were guilty of taking their foot off the pedal at the death, allowing Pakistan to score 91 runs in the final 10 overs. And they will be keen to give a better account of themselves in front of the women from the Caribbean.

With tougher oppositions expected as the tournament progresses, the Indian bowlers couldn't have asked for a better opponent than a familiar West Indies side, who they beat twice in the recent tri-series.
