WPL auction 2023: 'I haven't seen Rs 30 lakh ever in my life' - Minnu Mani 

While many international stars broke the bank in the auction for the inaugural edition of the Women's Premier League, a story of a tribal girl, hailing from Wayanad's Choyimoola, would inspire many girls across the world.

Minnu Mani, who belongs to the Kurichiya tribe, has reaped rich benefits for her sacrifices as she was bagged by Delhi Capitals for Rs 30 lakh during the WPL auction.

Reacting on the occasion, Kerala all-rounder told Times of India that she has never seen 30 lakh rupees ever in her life and she doesn't know how to describe her emotions.

Minnu, whose father is a daily wage worker and mother a homemaker, is hoping to put up a good show in the WPL and expects that it will open the doors to the Indian team.

23-year-old Minnu was the top run-getter in the recently concluded Women's All India One-day tournament. She scored 246 runs in 8 matches and claimed 12 wickets.
