England's newly-appointed head coach for Tests, Brendon McCullum opened up about his new role for the first time and said that it is a great opportunity to coach England.

"I look at this job and I think there's one country that can try and ensure that Test cricket not only sustains but also thrives, and that's England with the traditions and the support that it gets. So it's a big job at hand and I and I look forward to it," said McCullum.

The former New Zealand captain also added that his new job is not going to be easy but he knows how to handle the pressure that comes up with England's coaching job

"I understand that there's a lot of pressure which go with a job such as this. It's one of my skills as a player and, I guess, as a bit of a mentor or coach for guys moving forward is to try and block out some of that noise, some of that external stuff, which is important because also with the support and the sport grows. But it also can be quite difficult for players if they carry that baggage out onto the field. "

England have won just one of their last 17 Test matches. They will play a three-match Test series against New Zealand, starting June 2. Then Ben Stokes-led side will face India in the rescheduled fifth Test in July.
