"No better way to silence the critics than by putting runs on the board" - David Warner after scoring a sensational hundred in the first Test vs Pakistan

Australian stalwart David Warner emphatically responded to his detractors by scoring a spectacular century in the first Test of his final series. His celebration, featuring a 'shush' gesture, appeared to be a pointed response to ex-teammate Mitchell Johnson's criticism in the past month.

Warner, placing a finger on his lips, subtly addressed Johnson's comments questioning his continued selection in the team and the privilege of choosing his farewell series despite a recent dip in form.

During the tea break, Warner, speaking with the host broadcaster, emphasized his commitment to contributing to the team's success. "It’s my job to come here and score runs. It's about putting runs on the board for the bowlers. No better way to silence the critics than by putting runs on the board," he stated.

Candice Warner, David Warner's wife, also joined in the subtle rebuke of Johnson. She shared an image of Warner with a 'Shush' emoji, underscoring her support for her husband.
