'Want to play T20I World Cup and finish there': David Warner hints towards international retirement

After hitting the game-winning knock in Friday's Twenty20 International match against the West Indies, Australian great David Warner hinter towards his international retirement. Warner, who currently only represents Australia in T20 Internationals, helped his side defeat the West Indies in Hobart with a 70-run performance.

After a brilliant showing in the opening Twenty20 International against the West Indies, Warner expressed his feelings, saying he was excited to play in the upcoming Twenty20 World Cup and finish his remarkable career in style on a global platform.

"Pleasing to get the win on the board. Was a nice wicket to bat on and you have to make the most of it. Feel great and refreshed, I’m pumped. I want to play the T20 World Cup and finish there and it’s a good journey we’ve got going for the next 6 months. Pretty much the same squad going to New Zealand so it’s important we win there as well," Warner said at the post-match presentation ceremony.

David Warner will have a chance to retire as the world champion in all three formats if Australia are able to lift the T20 World Cup 2024. Warner won the World Test Championship and ODI World Cup title under the captaincy of Pat Cummins.
