Wait, what? Shane Warne ready to coach England cricket team

Shane Warne may have been involved in some of the most fierce rivalries with England on the cricket field but the legendary spinner who was responsible for sending English batters back into the pavilion 217 times in his career is now ready to coach their national side.

As the English board is in search of a new head coach, Warne is ready to take up the top job if offered.

While speaking in Sky Sports Podcast, Warne said that it is a great time to be an England coach. "I think I’d do a pretty good job, there’s a lot to work with", Warne said.

He added that England have so many good players and they need to get some basics right. Warne will coach London Spirits' men's team in the second edition of The Hundred.

After England's 4-0 humiliation in the Ashes Series, Chris Silverwood resigned from the head coach's position and the England board has appointed Paul Collingwood as an interim head coach.
