Stuart Broad: England bowler joins elite club of bowlers after completing 600 wickets | Ashes 2023

England's pacer Stuart Broad achieved a remarkable milestone in his career on Wednesday, becoming the latest member of the prestigious 600-wicket club in Test cricket.

At the beginning of the fourth Ashes Test and just two wickets short of the milestone, Broad wasted no time in making an impact. In the morning session, he dismissed Australia's Usman Khawaja, claiming him leg-before-wicket for three runs.

After the tea break, Broad struck again, this time removing Travis Head, caught by Joe Root. With this wicket, he entered an exclusive group comprising of only four other bowlers who achieved the 600-wicket landmark. Among his contemporaries, Broad's fellow England teammate, James Anderson, stands third on the list.

Sri Lanka's legendary spinner, Muttiah Muralitharan, holds the top spot with an astonishing 800 wickets, followed by Australia's Shane Warne with 708. Broad's achievement also places him behind India's Anil Kumble, who has 619 wickets to his name.

Stuart Broad's remarkable feat has once again solidified his position as one of the all-time greats in Test cricket.
