Ramiz Raja confirmed that the he met the top BCCI officials including Ganguly and Shah after an all important Asian Cricket Council meet post the IPL in Dubai. The agenda of the meeting was to assign hosting duties for the Asia Cup which will played in a 50-over format in 2023. This will be just before the World Cup in 2023 which the BCCI will host in India. Considering the border tensions between the two neighbours, it is still next to impossible for Team India to travel to Pakistan to play the tournament.

Raja in a video release confirmed that after the meeting he urged his counterparts in the BCCI to leave behind politics and ensure that the game of cricket is not affected by the relations between the two powerful Asian nations.
