Pakistan's Mohammad Hafeez retires from international cricket

Mohammad Hafeez brought the curtains down on an 18-year-long career for Pakistan on Monday as he announced his retirement from international cricket.

The 41-year-old, who made his international debut in 2003, scored 6614 runs in 218 ODIs, including 11 hundreds. Hafeez also hit 2514 runs in 119 T20I and has picked 200 wickets in the 2 formats combined. He had already retired from Tests in 2018.

Hafeez tweeted to thank his fans for their constant support and wrote that maintaining the highest level of pride & dignity has always been his most valuable achievement.

He will, however, continue to play franchise-based league cricket across the globe.
