PAK vs ENG: Three Lions clinch Test series 2-0, Pakistan out of WTC Final contention

England grabbed back-to-back wins in Pakistan for the first time ever as they beat Babar Azam's side by 26 runs to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the 3-match series at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Monday.

This was only England's fourth Test they've won in the country, which got them their first series victory in Pakistan since 2000-01.

Pakistan on the other hand have lost three consecutive Tests at home for the first time since 1959. It proved to be a double whammy as they are now out of the World Test Championship final race as well after dropping down to 6th place in the standings.

Chasing 355 runs, Pakistan got close and at one stage were threatening to take the game away from England, but Mark Wood bowled an inspired spell to send both the set batters - Mohd Nawaz for 45 before snaffling the well-set Saud Shakeel (94) six short of his hundred. In the end, the hosts were bowled out for 328.

It was England's Harry Brook, who starred for the Three Lions with the bat. The youngster scored his 2nd century in 4 games which proved instrumental as the visitors set Pakistan a 355-run target.

England have now won eight out of nine matches under the captaincy of Ben Stokes who will be delighted with the recent performances of the team.

Pakistan's defeat could benefit India in terms of the World Test Championship final race with the Top 2 teams Australia and South Africa playing each other next.
