Naseem Shah had to prematurely leave the field during Pakistan's second game against India at the Asia Cup last week. An injury to a muscle just below his bowling shoulder was identified as the cause. While this injury is not a recurrence of any previous shoulder issues, it could have lasting consequences for his career.

The potential absence of Naseem Shah in the World Cup and future series is a considerable setback for Pakistan.
