Massive Covid-19 outbreak in the Big Bash League, 12 stars from Brisbane Heat test positive

Covid chaos has taken over the Australian Big Bash League. In the latest episode of coronavirus scare, BBL team Brisbane Heat has reported positive cases in its extended squad as well, and their match against Sydney Sixers scheduled to be held on Wednesday is now postponed.

The team took to Twitter to inform that 12 more players and one of their coaches have returned positive PCR results. The PCR was taken on Tuesday afternoon.

Meanwhile, Australian all-rounder and Melbourne Stars skipper Glenn-Maxwell has also tested positive for Covid-19, confirmed his Big Bash League team on Tuesday.

The 33-year-old skipper returned with a positive report upon taking a rapid antigen Test after his team's loss to Melbourne Renegades on Monday night.

The Big Bash League is taking place amidst a virus scare in most of the league camps, 13 players and 8 staff members at Melbourne Star alone, have contracted the disease.

Atleast 5 teams of the league have positive Covid-19 cases, this includes Melbourne Renegades.
